What do you get irrationally annoyed about?

I have been smiling to myself at 'am I being unreasonable to want to go to the BBC HQ and bite someone' and 'am I being unreasonable to be Homicidal with Rage about ...' threads

I am generally a chilled person ... I can't get myself worked up about parent and toddler car parking threads for example ...
And laughed till I cried over the 'grapes' thread years ago on Mumsnet ...

BUT: When I help my children do a jigsaw puzzle and find at the end that there is a piece missing I get soooooooooooooo irrationally angry that I want to chuck a chair out of the window ....
Obviously I don't ... as I am a 'nice mummy' and I would scare my children. But inside I am screaming "Where is that faaaaaarrrrrking jigsaw piece????????"
I have to go and take deep breaths and calm down or have a gin
I am the same with lost shoes.
And if someone parks their car on the pavement on the way to school and I have to push the buggy out onto the road to get past I have to suppress an urge to run my keys down the side of that car

So, what silly thing do you get irrationally cross about????

Oh and here's another one!

If ever I get a parcel sent to me, I always ask the sender to write a note on it to ask the postie to leave it with a neighbour if I'm not in. The sender always does.

So why, nine times out of ten, does the postie still take the bleedin' parcel down to the sorting office, so that I can't collect it until the weekend? Grr!

boredwithwaitingforminiMOSSY · 28/02/2007 11:49

Keeplaughing I'm due at the end of March.

But tomorrow I start maternity leave, yippee! I am bored with waiting for my lo, but I was also bored with waiting to finish work, which won't apply tomorrow.

I suppose that also means I can now go to the sorting office of a week, so I should stop complaining now!

keeplaughing · 28/02/2007 11:59

oooh a spring baby, nice. Maternity leave even nicer. now don't forget it's essential to take to your bed at least once a day to read / rest / sleep / eat chocs / watch tv etc. My doc told me this when pregnant with dd. If you feel like it, it's also very good to (don't know how to put this..), you know , something else while you're there. Very good for strengthening the pelvic floors, helps with labour and after (well it did for me)....honest!

better not lose the thread, really really hate bad spelling - have overwhelming urge to tell perpetrator (hope have spelt this right

LieselVentouse · 28/02/2007 12:10

Mobile phones I get right mad about them especially when your out with people and they interrupt conversations to answwer a text message and then ignore you totally while they reply and leave you sitting like a lemon. DH once throw somones mobile into their pint cause three times the guy had answered his phone on a night out. I also hate people driving with them stuck to their ear, the whole way into work today the car behind me had his phone up to his ear - driving with one hand, when we stopped at traffic lights I banged on his window and said "drop the f**n phone areshole" and Im never normally that agressive.

LieselVentouse · 28/02/2007 12:11

keeplaughing - do you mean have sex? Just fricken say it we can handle it

boredwithwaitingforminiMOSSY · 28/02/2007 12:16

Keeplaughing, how very dare you suggest that! Well I don't think dh is going to touch me with a bargepole atm, the other night he pointed out that I only wanted sex for the "prosty gland thingy" and that I'd crush him anyway! So it'll have to be, er, DIY!

Anyway to keep with the thread, another thing that annoys me is this:

We have a form in work that we give out to all our candidates to fill in. Why oh why oh why is it such a huge leap of imagination, when the last form is in the tray, to make twenty photocopies, instead of using the last form and then next time complaining that we've run out of forms?

boredwithwaitingforminiMOSSY · 28/02/2007 12:17

Oh Keeplaughing I didn't realise you meant sex, I thought you meant masturbation!

keeplaughing · 28/02/2007 12:17

sex if you can / want to but I really meant, no can't even write it, i don't like the word (or the other one), but you know what i mean In fact these words make me irrationally cross...

LieselVentouse · 28/02/2007 12:18

Get a grip you mean master bate - crying out loud, what are you 4?

keeplaughing · 28/02/2007 12:20

ok goddammit i'll say it, masturbation. Daily

ledodgyDave · 28/02/2007 12:21

People who park in a busy carpark and place their car diagnoally so it's over one space and half of the one beside it. It's so f**kin selfish!

keeplaughing · 28/02/2007 12:23

little harsh LV, just hate the word that's all. and while we're on the subject i also hate the following words: portion, gusset, bap. completely irrational and odd i know. and a guy i used to work with couldn't listen if you said the word spatula to him - obviously we wound each other up regularly

clumsymum · 28/02/2007 12:23

OK, are you ready for this one.....

When my BIL (who is ds's Godfather) comes to take ds out for a day (about avery 6-7 weeks), the whole family come, that is BIL, his partner, her grown-up daughter and HER son.
Then they ALL take it in turns to use our loo, even tho their own house is only 12-15 mins away, before they can set off.

So if they come to collect him at 9:30, it'll be about 10:15 before they have got their act together to go.

I think they must have a water meter, and come here to save water rates.
And it drives me LOOOOOPY

nearlythere · 28/02/2007 12:29

following on from someone elses comment- when someone who dies suddenly becomes the nicest person ever!!! Why do people feel the need to forget all the s*y things and turn them into a saint! ffs if they were a twat while they were alive what changes when they're dead?

fryalot · 28/02/2007 12:32

When people use the word "literally" when they don't really mean it..... eg: "He worked so hard, he LITERALLY worked himself into the ground"

WHAT? You needed a spade to dig him out?

He had to tunnel up to you so he could have a cup of tea?

You mean he worked quite hard, don't you?

LieselVentouse · 28/02/2007 12:32

Have to agree with you about bap and gusset though. I hate the word pamper as well

shonaspurtle · 28/02/2007 12:32

That whenever dh cooks there is a film of oil over every surface of the kitchen including the floor, door handles...

That the spread tub is full of totally mangled spread full of toast crumbs

That my next door neighbour has to slam her front door to shut it because there's something wrong with the catch. She gets home at odd hours of the night and this has been going on for 6 months

Ok, these are annoying things but I really want to stab the people involved and sometimes my barely contained rage scares me a bit

boredwithwaitingforminiMOSSY · 28/02/2007 12:36

Oh Squonk, yes, "literally". My favourite quote though came from a colleague who said, "oh she's such a suck. She's literally licking his bum," which rather than making me irrationally annoyed made me pmsl!

LieselVentouse · 28/02/2007 12:39

Yeah and I want to kill the man with the Westie who only comes round and 6.30am (which is actually the time I get up) and lets his dog craap all over our garden and out the bit at the front where the kids play. I'll be ready for him tomorrow (my anger on this one does slightly worry me)

boredwithwaitingforminiMOSSY · 28/02/2007 12:44

Oh talking about dog poo: (tmi alert)

It really annoys me when one of my dogs does a poo, and I go to pick it up, only to find it's cold. Which means... it's another dog's turd!!! That someone else hasn't picked up! Of course I can't put it back, so I pick it up, and then hunt for my dog's turd as well to pick that up!

clumsymum · 28/02/2007 12:44

LieselVentouse

Your anger about that isn't irrational. I'd plant a banger in your lawn and next time the dog is about to crap there I'd set it off (long electronic fuse required obviously).

And I'm a dog lover, owner of 2.

Cloudhopper · 28/02/2007 12:46

I'm irrationally annoyed about the lottery for school places in Brighton, considering I don't live there.

doots · 28/02/2007 12:50

Custardo - you have made me laugh today, you're really angry
Oh and I'm one of those f*ckers who parks by a pump and then goes in to buy something but only when it's not busy and because I want to be able to see the children if I've left them in the car so there....

ThisFrogIsGonnaWhoopYouAss · 28/02/2007 12:52

When people ing while I'm in the middle of something! I mean, they have absolutely no way of knowing that I am up to m eyes in something, but I still get really mad, and am often quite rude and hang up on them

fryalot · 28/02/2007 12:54

when people ring to try to sell me something. It's always when I've just got the kiddies off to sleep, the phone wakes them up, then the caller HANGS UP because they wanted dp and not someone with a girlie voice!!!

(although I don't think that's too irrational, I just wanted to get it off my chest)
