..to let our puppy slep on the bed tonight?

DH is away, 24 hrs in A and E only had 30 mins left, we're very snuggly and its cold to get out of bed!

It's only one night? Surely? Isn't having puppy snuggles like having newborn snuggles?

I never invited my dogs into my bed, it was just a natural process. Once they were big enough to physically jump up onto it that's exactly what they started to do and have done it every night since for years.

When I say to them "Go to bed" they bolt upstairs and get on top of my bed; Both of them choose to sleep underneath the quilt and one in particular has this bizarre habit of sleeping in between my legs with his head on my stomach, meaning I have no choice but to sleep on my back.

2 adults and 2 boxer dogs in a double bed - I wish I could say it's true bliss but there's a lack of room and the body heat gets intense but cuddles in the morning are lovely. They love being warm/cosy and they do not understand "personal space", they love being as close to me as possible - They are 8 years old now, big babies.

OP only let the puppy sleep in your bed if you're prepared to do it fgor a lifetime!

As A Pug 'owner' I have 3 soon to be 4 I would not have my Pugs anywhere else but on my bed yes they snore and fart (but so does DH) but they are companion dogs they are not called velcro dogs for nothing, they need to be with you.

BUT as someone else has touched on Pugs are prone to hip dysplasia and jumping off of beds and any high places can cause serious harm, I have a ramp at the end of my bed and mine are trained to use that getting on and off, I also have one downstairs by the sofa.

And yes they do not have very good temperature control so over heating can be an issue, looks like you are going to be a good responsible Pug owner = best of luck they are wonderful dogs

Thank you harasas! I think so but I am a tad biased 😁

Out2Pasture That sounds really awful. 😮 I can understand why you wouldn't want a dog on your bed after having that happen.

Even with a king sized bed I am lucky if I get 6 inches on the edge. But I wouldn't have it any other way.

Oh my word fourquenelles, those are big dogs! What breeds are they?

WasabiNell · 08/02/2017 08:57

My dog sleeps under the duvet every night Blush she's the snuggliest little bug ever though and I wouldn't have it any other way!!

Spanish galgos Wading Bred to hunt then discarded when too old or slow (if they are lucky, horrible deaths if not) 😢 They think they are cats and sleep for 20 hours a day.

Our Yorkie sleeps with us every night and a cat each for each kid still at home. It's bliss. Do it.

Can't abuse those vile crates.

Adorable pics people

They're lovely fourquenelles 😍

I woke up this morning to a very stiff shoulder because my cat was lying on it, sleeping. The other one spent the night beside me. We have an open door policy in our bedroom because it's better than a scratched carpet. And I think everybody knows who wins in the battle of patience and persistence.

MuseumOfCurry · 08/02/2017 09:42

I let my golden retriever in the bed just once, and now she's there every night and pees on the guest room bed if we don't let her in.

She's lovely to sleep with so I don't mind, but my husband feels it impinges on our sex life so he's not crazy about it.

A dog can form a permanent habit instantly if it is something that they find pleasurable.

You have been warned.
