To not go to my expensive gym?

I got a bit carried away in January and joined an expensive gym.

I am at least 5 stone overweight.

I am useless. Rubbish, hopeless. I do around three minutes and am gasping for breath, in huge amounts of pain and hating it.

I now retrospectively realise that I should have shifted a couple of stone BEFORE joining but anyone got any suggestions in the interim?

Walk - As in ditch the gym for now and go walking instead.

You can walk at your own pace and gently ease yourself into exercising; Not to mention the fact it's free and more comfortable.

An hour's walking every evening until you've shifted the first 2 stone, you will then be more able physically and more confident mentally to tackle the gym.

Walking really does help with losing weight and staying fit, it's also enjoyable at a pace you can manage!

I agree with the walking but this time of year I find it more comfortable and dry at the gym!

I think I would find just walking outside a bit boring to be honest

Just swim. Presumably if it is expensive it will have a decent pool.

I'm not keen on swimming.

That's the third time I've said that!

Put some music on your iPod, ear phones in and off you go! I watch the rugby because the men in shorts are worth watching but whatever suits you. Each time try to walk more, every third visit put the incline up one bit... whatever it takes! At the moment we are doing the shine marathon walk in September so I am doing an hour walk each time I go and aiming to walk more in that time. Just do what you can. At the moment it's better to move for longer than to crash out and have to stop after a short time.

Gasping yes you are BU!

The gym is not reserved for the enthusiasts who are there every day of the week me! I love seeing new people in the gym and would never ever judge anyone! I usually look at thing 'go girl!' but wouldn't say it to avoid embarrassing myself ha! Please don't be put off, a little is better than nothing and you can work up to where you want to be. Go in there and own it! Especially as it costs a fortune!
