To expect Trump to respect the Prince of Wales

I am not a big fan of the Royal family. It's infuriating to see this slug of a president getting arrogant to Prince Charles though. And that too on climate change! Whatever happened to mutual respect and decency?

Trump respects only himself. That is abundantly clear. I would quite happily have seen him banned from entering the UK, but unfortunately the powers that be were too wishy washy to see it through.

I didn't vote Brexit. I don't like that we are stuck with it and I find the rise of the far right seemingly just about everywhere now rather alarming.

Topseyt · 29/01/2017 10:26

Boy, I so wish that that could happen.

Instead, here is a twat who almost got banned from the UK for his twatty bullshit now bei g invited on a state visit.

You really couldn't make it up!!

I don't think Sadiq Khan can actually do much on banning Trump while Queen and the rest of the government are here.
But I certainly believe something more symbolic could be done about it. Can we bake this idea bit? Let's say what kind of a symbolic gesture would be the best middle finger to Trump? May be banning him from visiting certain London monuments? what could it be?

I mean, I wish Sadiq could ban Trump from London!

Valentine2 · 29/01/2017 10:28

I think a symbolic ban would actually be very effective.

Trump is someone born into immense privilage who is crazy with inappropriate acquisitioned power.

Charles has spent a good portion of his life writing secret letters to government lobbying for various personal interests. Leading weight, money, influence to all sorts of hobby horses without worrying about what the taxpayer thinks because he's our Prince, so He Knows What Is Good For Us. He's a twat of the highest order who has been trying to meddle in our democratic process his whole adult life.

I WAS listening to Corbyn on BBC JUST NOW. He seems to have got the best idea right now (I don't condone all of his policies but on this issue he is very clear and I believe his proposal is the most honourable way for Uk to deal with Trump). He says May and cronies want to bring American companies here to effectively strip down NHS. He is right considering we are swallowing our pride by inviting him so quickly. And liking may the way May has avoided condemning his Muslim ban, it makes perfect sense (she didn't condemn it even now. She just "doesn't agree" Angry)

Well, those of us who are quite attached to the polar ice caps..........

And the coastline of Britain.

I've read (but can't find it now) that the Queen has long had a special interest in climate change, and that Philip is pretty well read on the subject as well. Trump likely does not know that. And didn't William read geography at university?

Prevent Donald Trump from making a State Visit to the United Kingdom.

Donald Trump should be allowed to enter the UK in his capacity as head of the US Government, but he should not be invited to make an official State Visit because it would cause embarrassment to Her Majesty the Queen.

Donald Trump's well documented misogyny and vulgarity disqualifies him from being received by Her Majesty the Queen or the Prince of Wales. Therefore during the term of his presidency Donald Trump should not be invited to the United Kingdom for an official State Visit.

Fastest-growing petition ever. So fast. The best.

What birdybirdywoofwoof said. Seems the UK has to tread on eggshells to appeal to his good non-existent nature and fragile ego.

The whole article reads like a warning and dictating to the royal family/UK.

I don't care for the Royal family tbf but respect is a given and not owed. A healthy debate on climate change would be fine but if it can't be managed then best not to mention it at all on both sides with out any arse licking.

Scary times, selling ourselves to the devil.

My thoughts on this... Hating on Muslims and women and the Mexicans and refugees and all the crappy laws he's passing to make their lives harder is one thing, and they can easily be done away with, even though right now they are awful and unfair. Ignoring climate change and damaging the environment further will be very hard to rectify and will take much longer, if it can be accomplished at all. I am very worried about where this is all going, and him being a bit mean to Prince Charles is the least of his crimes.

Trump doesn't do mutual respect, he doesn't know how.
