To expect Trump to respect the Prince of Wales

I am not a big fan of the Royal family. It's infuriating to see this slug of a president getting arrogant to Prince Charles though. And that too on climate change! Whatever happened to mutual respect and decency?

To expect Trump to respect the Prince of Wales

So y'all voted in Brexit

Many people did not. In fact Leavers represent roughly 26% of the UK population, and about 35% of the electorate as a whole.

And now we are being forced into a Hard Brexit by May and her cronies.

birdybirdywoofwoof · 29/01/2017 07:11

Everyone knows, Trump especially knows, that as a nation, we have to get on our knees and suck his cock.

cowgirlsareforever · 29/01/2017 07:13

You first birdybirdywoofwoof

Mummyoflittledragon · 29/01/2017 07:16

Everyone knows, Trump especially knows, that as a nation, we have to get on our knees and suck his cock.

Indeed. We will shortly be known as the 51st state of America.

birdybirdywoofwoof · 29/01/2017 07:22

Um, I am actually a disabled, Mexican, Muslim.

wigglesrock · 29/01/2017 07:27

I'm with MrsTerryPratchett why should anyone automatically respect any member of a family solely because of the family they were born into? I find it absolutely baffling that anyone can get annoyed that a democratically elected president snubs a man born into heriditary wealth.

lightgreenglass · 29/01/2017 07:38

wigglesrock because of the climate change snub, he's not snubbing him because he's a member of the royal family. He's doing it because he doesn't agree with his views.

The British public will protest when Trump is here. There will be no horses down the mall, and who is going to line the streets of the mall for Trump? It's going to be embarrassing for him.

wigglesrock · 29/01/2017 07:44

Yes but why should Trump put aside his wrongly held views on climate change to meet Prince Charles. Trump has decided to ignore science, of course he's not going to listen to reason ( I think thats been well established) he's not affording Prince Charles any less respect than anyone else who holds the same views.

snapcrap · 29/01/2017 08:05

Who gives a fuck about climate change right at this moment in time when he is banning Muslims from entering the US and causing such distress and fear and plunging the US and the world into crisis over his facist policies.

Let's concentrate on one Trump horror at a time!

MrsDustyBusty · 29/01/2017 08:09

Given the evidence that Trump has scant respect for anyone, it's quite amusing that you think he'll make an exception for your princey, OP.

SleepFreeZone · 29/01/2017 08:11

Of course he doesn't want to accept climate change is happening. They want to continue driving their huge cars and watering their Californian mansion gardens even though they are years into a climate change related drought.

He got elected off the back of his 'bringing back the good old days' policies, and part of that is being able to let his electorate stick their fingers in their ears and sing la la la yo what's happening right in front of their noses.

CaveMum · 29/01/2017 08:32

I think the meeting with Kate and Wills will be more awkward. Apparently when the topless photos of Kate sunbathing a few years ago were circulating Trump tweeted (surprise, surprise) more or less saying it was her own fault for taking her top off.

ChuffCloud · 29/01/2017 08:37

^
I didn't vote for Brexit and you didn't vote for that dangerous clown, but yep, we're stuck in this dystopian nightmare where the far right is charging full steam ahead.^

This!!

Andrewofgg · 29/01/2017 08:44

Mitzy The next Queen's Speech could well include these words:

We will continue to meet and greet those foreign dignitaries who surprise Us by thinking it worth their while to come here and to whom Mr Johnson (We think that that is his name) says we must offer the hospitality of Our homes (We, at least, know Our duty) but by reason of advancing years We have ceased to go to them.

That's constitutional monarchy at work. She meets whomever she is told to meet. Blame the FCO.

Blu · 29/01/2017 09:16

Perhaps Trump will have tea with Jeremy Clarkson?

Batteriesallgone · 29/01/2017 09:49

Mitzy you think now is when the queen should make a stand? Against Trump?

The woman met with Mugabe FFS. She has indeed met with some proper evil characters.

It is so fucking insulting to hear people lumping the POTUS in with some of the genocidal maniacs the queen has met with, let alone implying that Trump is worse.

MrsDustyBusty · 29/01/2017 09:51

There's no evidence that she'd disagree with trump or any right wing nuts anyway.

BertrandRussell · 29/01/2017 09:54

"Who gives a fuck about climate change right at this moment in time"

Well, those of us who are quite attached to the polar ice caps..........

Batteriesallgone · 29/01/2017 09:55

Exactly. Why on earth would anyone think she had Democrat leanings?!

Inherited wealth - excellent. Superiority complex - jolly good. Limited intelligence - never did any of her lot any harm, arf arf.

Look at the way the marriage to Princess Di was arranged - she was a convenient, fairly innocent, young trophy wife for a man who had clearly been ploughing elsewhere. Not the orchestration of a feminist mind really is it?

Queenie probably thinks Donald is no better (or worse) than he should be.

Valentine2 · 29/01/2017 10:01

THIS is what bothers you about Trump? You were 'meh' about his views on women, muslims, Mexicans, the disabled, immigrants, LGBT, but as soon as he might disagree with the Prince of Wales you've had enough?*

No!Shock of course not. I have been very vocal against him throughout on all these things. I have also been very vocal against Royal family in some respects but this is Trump and environment. I don't think he gives a flying f for Prince Charles as a person. I think it's all about keeping UK under control. It's his way of bullying us. It's his way of saying "I can choose, get on with it".
I also believe one reason he was actively against EU because of the vocal leaders of Europe. UK will be the lapdog yet again if they are left alone and need all the allies they can make?
What also gets me is it will all be so futile (somebody push May to read Relations on here) as he has already said he will put heavy taxes on imports. And what in the world will we import to US anyway?
He is just saying "fuck you! I dictate the terms! You shut up and put up". SadAngry

Relations=Relationships Blush

Batteriesallgone · 29/01/2017 10:11

Maybe it's that even someone as vile as Trump can't stomach Prince Charles?

Prince Charles is a massive cock. Huge. Maybe even Trump is thinking - whoa, I mean I know I'm a bit much, but....

Valentine2 · 29/01/2017 10:18

No. I don't think there is any comparison. Charles is not angel but Trump is the devil himself.
Just watching Corbyn and I think the point he is making about Tories bringing American companies here to effectively strip down NHS the American way is a very scary scenario.
I.AM.NOT.VOTING.TORIES.EVER.

Maybe Sadiq Khan will sign an Executive Order banning Trump from London.
