I don't get this. Did you suddenly stop liking them or is it just that the weird notion of "fashion" has given you the idea that you aren't allowed to wear them anymore?

GrumpyOldBag · 26/01/2017 17:05

No, I tried on other styles, which I liked, and felt suited me as well, so I gradually stopped wearing the older jeans I had.

I am very far from being a slave to fashion, but I also don't want to look too "Mumsy" or last century either.

This is what I think as 'fashion' jeans. I can't imagine myself wearing a single one of them.

Manbono5 what nonsense, you don't have to be 20 tall and slim to wear skinnys. I'm 38, a size 14 with 35" legs, I look great in skinnys and super skinnys. I'm not a slave to fashion but why feel frumpy in boot cuts when I can feel sexy in skinnys???

beanfilledfish · 26/01/2017 18:15

I just bought a lovely pair of indigo bootcuts in the baukjen sale they're very flattering

BusterGonad · 26/01/2017 18:19

I love big flares, but I always trip myself up on the stairs in them! You know the opposite foot gets stuck in the flare!

Pinkponiesrock · 26/01/2017 18:23

I'm firmly in the skinny jeans category, I've got a pair of bootcuts that we described as something else when I ordered them and they are ugly as!
I want skinny jeans that don't go saggy though, keep thinking I've found my perfect pair then after a few washes they've lost their tightness! Any suggestions? Tried Next, Zara, H&M, diesel, topshop, 7evens, mint velvet and same issue with them all Sad

I have River Island Molly jeggings. They are very tight with a bit of stretch. They are quite thin though so they won't last as long as traditional jeans.

liquidrevolution · 26/01/2017 18:39

Bootcuts, for my ridiculous calf muscles. Currently in dorothy Perkins ones. The boot bit isnt too flarey so they look like straight leg on me.

Skinnies are ok but not on a 29"leg size 16 apple Grin. Even if i could get them over my calves.Hmm

megletthesecond · 26/01/2017 18:51

Keep one pair and charity shop the rest.

I've kept one pair of bootcuts and one pair of flares just in case. Skinny is more practical for me though, don't flap around in the rain.

NancyDonahue · 26/01/2017 18:55

I love my boot cuts. I get the M&S Indigo ones. They're not too flarey but they even out my pear shape nicely. I have skinnies too but only wear them with boots. Boot cut look fab with wedges and a vest top in the summer.

dudsville · 26/01/2017 18:57

This thread has reminded me that when I was 13 in the early 8o's I bought a fabulous pair red levis 501's that were boot cut. Absolutely was not on trend. I just loved them. That's all I came on to say.

PickAChew · 26/01/2017 19:08

I have short legs. Bootcut jeans definitely do not flatter. Plus, I can't wear heels of any sort, so they inivitably either trail on the ground and get ruined or look ridiculously short on me, because they're never just right.

I was relieved when skinnies came back in and even more when they stopped being so low in the waist that I had a muffin top and draughty arse crack.

DoubleR · 26/01/2017 19:16

Each to their own. I'm 5'3, a size 8 and bootcut jeans suit me way better than skinnies.
Loving the tips on where to find nice ones on this thread. Grin

fussychica · 26/01/2017 19:40

I'm still wearing them and will continue to do so, along with jeggings and skinny jeans. I have no real idea what's in and out of fashion anymore though loons and bell bottoms have been consigned to the pastGrin
