Bubble & Squeak dispute - I'm right, surely?

Friend popped round Monday, and as I was clattering about the kitchen she asked, as you do, what I was planning to cook for tea. As we'd had a roast on the Sunday, I explained that I was doing cold meat & a couple of sausages to pad it out (as there were about two slices of pork left), mashed potatoes and bubble and squeak. She then observed me chopping up left over veg/roast potatoes/stuffing/an onion and putting this into a frying pan, at which point she asked me what the devil I thought I was doing...

Apparently, Bubble and Squeak is not a fried off mix of the leftovers but should be a stew, made up with left over gravy/beef stock.

AIBU? She's wrong, surely - I've never heard of B&S being a stew!!

In your shoes I may have to consider the future of the friendship. You don't say which part of the country you are in but if it's London, please take her to a cafe for breakfast with bubble. If she's still in denial after that then it might be kindest to both of you if you go your separate ways.

Bloody fab stuff, especially post-Xmas B&S, with cold turkey and gammon. Would it be unreasonable to cook another Christmas dinner this weekend, just so we can have Boxing Day bubble?

Mashed, boiled or roast potatoes and cabbage, fried. Only we hardly ever have any leftover veg in this house.

Sometimes I boil some spuds specially, leave them to cool, then dice and squash slightly, jfry with a chopped onion, cook some chopped cabbage separately, mix in, and serve with bacon and egg, ham, or corned beef.

Leftovers with gravy sounds more like stovies to me. Bubble and squeak is fried mashed potatoes with cabbage stirred through, loads of pepper, and totally yummers with an egg, be it poached or fried, on top drools
