AIBU to be absolutely sick of people asking 'AIBU'?

I can't believe that on such a site as this where parents go for advice or a chat that everything is based around 'AIBU'!
I hadn't been on here for a while but it is just full of this - please think of something else to post and slow down on the AIBU's.
Am I the only one who is tired of this? Seriously, let me know if I am - maybe I'm missing something or maybe there are more important things for people to post about?

OP posts:

What does HTH mean??

Highalert · 24/01/2017 17:54

Everything gets posted on AIBU.

Put then some posters never venture out of AIBU.

LiviaDrusillaAugusta · 24/01/2017 17:54

Hope that helps

LiviaDrusillaAugusta · 24/01/2017 17:55

It's used when someone is being a bellend

MiladyThesaurus · 24/01/2017 17:56

You are being super ironic.

Or at least that's the effect, regardless of you intent.

witsender · 24/01/2017 17:57

I'm assuming the OP didn't realise bothered were other boards on MN.

DesolateWaist · 24/01/2017 17:59

HTH means hope that helps,
It's often used in a sarcastic tone.

HTH

See the AIBU crowd are living this thread. They can stick the boot right in.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 24/01/2017 18:01

AIBU to ask what to have for dinner tonight? Then open the thread, and it turns out it's been 'posted here for traffic' and actually all the op wants to know is what to have for dinner.
What's really U, is that instead of responding to the op's question, and telling her if they believe she is, or isn't U to ask, the fire is fuelled by lots of suggestions about what to have.

YANBU op but I don't believe there's a remedy. AIBU is one of the most frequent boards and as such generates a lot of traffic.

Crowdblundering · 24/01/2017 18:03

You do realise this board is called AIBU - there are other boards with other topics ... Confused

Highalert · 24/01/2017 18:04

The op realises there are other topics. I don't think many other posters on MN do though.

Crowdblundering · 24/01/2017 18:06

Ah - hide it then go to chat there is no AIBU in there I hear.....

LucklessMonster · 24/01/2017 18:06

If the OP is making the point that people post things here that aren't actually AIBUs, I agree with her. It's tedious and irritating. Although MNHQ are largely to blame for having such a ridiculous number of topics: of course people don't post in the ones that are buried so deep nobody ever visits them.

LiviaDrusillaAugusta · 24/01/2017 18:09

I was looking at MN earlier on the computer and didn't log in - the Active section was full of all kinds of topics

WorraLiberty · 24/01/2017 18:10

I don't remember it ever being any different really.

AIBU has always seemed to be a more robust version of the Chat topic.

Perfectlypurple · 24/01/2017 18:11

I was going to say yabu but I looked at active and there's at least 30 in Aibu. Probably less than a third of them actual aibu.

DesolateWaist · 24/01/2017 18:15

If the OP is making the point that people post things here that aren't actually AIBUs

I don't think that was the point they were making at all. I read it that they wanted to know why people are posting in AIBU when they should just be discussing cake recipes and pushchairs.

Persemillion · 24/01/2017 18:18

Your own thread is the intrinsic nature of a YABU OP. So, YABU and I wonder why it bothers you so much.

PollyPerky · 24/01/2017 18:30

YANBU

Some people post the most stupid things, like any thought that comes into their head. ie 'AIBU to want a cream cracker now...'

And there are some posters who live on this AIBU because they love the sound of their -own opinions-- to advise. :)

Capricorn76 · 24/01/2017 18:34

To be fair there are some AIBUs which make no sense and irritate me such as 'Am I pregnant?'. How is that an AIBU question?

WhereYouLeftIt · 24/01/2017 18:38

AIBUis one board amongst hundreds. If you don't like this board, hang out on the others. The specific ones like Step-parenting or Employment Issues, or the general Like Chat or Telly Addicts.

Get a grip.

Emberroo · 24/01/2017 18:42

AIBU to think YABU about AIBU posts. Yes, IABU, because YBVVVU, actually.

Have an U Biscuit

Attention seeker.

Highalert · 24/01/2017 18:51

Giving out grips and biscuits is very much part of AIBU.

TheDowagerCuntess · 24/01/2017 19:23

Who really cares?

I mean, I know we all love this place, but it's just a chat board.

It's not the end of the world to over-utilise one particular sub-forum, and getting wound up over it is really, really pointless. Wine

RortyCrankle · 24/01/2017 19:42

Easy solution OP - just press the X in the top right hand corner. No more AIBU.
