Apparently, he has those fake hands because under his coat, his real hands are carrying a big automatic rifle.

They conceal such large weapons in this way because the public would be worried that there was and especial danger....and that they were at risk.

I wonder if this is normal or just because it's Trump? And why have an automatic rifle instead of a normal hand gun?

That's just werid. Surely a machine gun is more likely kill poor innocent sods in crowd than actual person attempting kill the president? If theee what 20 guards around all with hand gun that's plenty enough gun power to get anyone.

EagleIsland · 23/01/2017 11:38

There would have to be a body strap somewhere a AR-15 is fairly heavy. He would have to. He wearing body armor too because in a battle he would be a clear target.

Poor guy would probably be carrying 15-20kg

EagleIsland · 23/01/2017 11:40

Akire

A pistol will kill one person. A machine gun will make a entire crowd keep there heads down....while the President escapes

diddl · 23/01/2017 11:41

So, no fake hands or arms, obviously.

MillionToOneChances · 23/01/2017 11:43

He moves his thumb quite naturally, twice. Suspect it's just the way he holds his hand to quickly reach his weapon.

stealtheatingtunnocks · 23/01/2017 11:47

My kid's a whizz with plasticine. Bet he could whip up a fake-arm-gun.

I think it's a hidden gun - the whole of his shoulder looks overly developed, same with the female guard.

What a way to live.

Was always surprised that Obama wasn't assassinated, he was so polarising in the States. The guards obviously know what they are doing.

diddl · 23/01/2017 11:48

Yes, in the way that the woman near him holds the edges of her coat.

stopfuckingshoutingatme · 23/01/2017 11:51

imagine having to wear bullet proof clothes from the neck down

would want that, for all the tea in china

I feel really sorry for her

Lweji · 23/01/2017 11:57

I remember Trump complaining about the cost of a new Air Force 1.
I imagine it will have security equipment that inflates the cost.
But maybe they can do a cheaper one especially for Trump. Wink

pipsqueak25 · 23/01/2017 12:00

it's trump, who really cares ?

Manumission · 23/01/2017 12:04

The thing I don't understand about the bullet proof armour is you're just making your head the only viable target, aren't you? Which seems unwise.

UnexplainedOnHerCollar · 23/01/2017 12:16

I found that whole parade of murderous-looking types in long coats very scary and weird, never mind the fake hands!

Also, after all the furore about Trump's hands, I thought from the thread title that this was about the bodyguard carrying some fake hands for Trump to wear.

MyWineTime · 23/01/2017 13:15

They aren't fake. You can clearly see him move them BOTH. Around 2.45 of the video.
I was just about to post the same thing. You can see him move his hand a few times during the video.

Lweji · 23/01/2017 13:28

The right one is weird. He doesn't move his fingers, just thumb.

I think it's correct that he will have a gun behind the fake hand.

FATEdestiny · 23/01/2017 13:37

It's exactly the same thumb-down movement tfar happens at 6.28.

At 2.45 The Trumps stop and change direction to wave. Bodyguard depressed the thumb on the fake hand.

Then at 6.28 The Trumps stop and change direction to get in car. Bodyguard depressed thumb on the fake hand again.

This is the only movement the hand does. In both cases it matches with the only times The Trumps stop walking.

It is a fake hand. The thumb must be some kind of trigger release or safety. Either the gun is meant to be armed only when Trump is not walking. Or it is a gun meant to be armed only when Trump is walking. Either way the thumb has something to do with arming/disarming.

ButteredToastAndStrawberryJam · 23/01/2017 13:50

Oh god, I've watched it again at the 2.45 point and yes it does move doesn't it. Maybe there's a button in the little finger to make the thumb move to look more natural Grin

Lweji · 23/01/2017 13:51

That is a weird little finger as well. It does look like the left hand is holding it for a reason.

The hand could also have a camera. He could be filming the audience.
Or a scanner.

Gileswithachainsaw · 23/01/2017 13:56

Is it just needs or does he keep yanking his poor wife around...

Wouldn't be using her almost as a shield would he....

Gileswithachainsaw · 23/01/2017 14:00

Just me

specialsubject · 23/01/2017 14:03

Like all presidents trump is now looking at a lifetime of security protection, even after he leaves office. A lot to do with that right to bear arms, although as we know banning guns is no guarantee.

Lweji · 23/01/2017 14:05

I see, the guy was clearly looking out for grizzlies. Wink

You should always have a gun in case of grizzlies.

OneWithTheForce · 23/01/2017 14:10

I'm guessing the gun is physically inside that fake hand.

Yes that would explain why he is holding it with the other hand.

Bloomed · 23/01/2017 14:13

Was thinking about bulletproof armour. How thin can it be now?

ArriettyClock1 · 23/01/2017 14:13

I saw footage on the news today including this security guy (having watched the clip linked to on here and being convinced they are fake hands) - he quite clearly used his hand to pull in the edge of his coat (I watched it a few times).

So now I think he just has fake looking hands but they are in fact, real!

diddl · 23/01/2017 14:20

"I'm guessing the gun is physically inside that fake hand."

There are no fake hands!!
