Just wanted to say....if no-one else has mentioned it, that if you enjoy the beetroot crisps....don't panic when your poo goes bright red. It is a bit scarey first time!!

I was in Aldi yesterday and thought the mince and chicken breast packs were quite expensive
I also bought mushrooms onions and potatoes amongst other things all of which I've been disappointed in the quality of
When peeling the onions last night I had to throw half away as they were soft and going off, the mushrooms underneath the top layer were brown and some had sweated and started to go mouldy the potatoes were a mixture with some quite green some ok and some with lots of eyes
I will stick to Lidl and Morrisons thanks

If anyone from Aldi is watching this thread... I won't buy your meat because it's packed in lots of plastic. Put a meat counter in and I'm yours Wink.

Shockers · 22/01/2017 18:50

Ps. I like the organic veg!

glitterazi · 22/01/2017 19:08

The smoked cheeses. Yum.

They do a 3 in 1 ' conditioning shampoo/body wash' - in an emerald green bottle, nice grapefruity smell, useful for travel/gym (I've actually started using it at home as well!)
Im careful to use their chicken well before use by date, having had some nasty surprises on the last day despite it being in a 4 degree fridge since getting it home...

I'm an Aldi convert too.
Their curry sauces with the powder on top is ace, as are the fajita sauces.
Fruit and veg very good.
Pork steaks are lovely, also stewing beef.
Strawberry and lime cider is wonderful, my guilty pleasure and better than Koppaberg, Rekorderlig etc

mrshutch23 · 22/01/2017 19:20

Their own version of Baileys. £3 something. Very nice!
I like everything in there, meat fish fruit veg everything! My one has its own bakery in store and they have a very nice cheese selection!

NootNoot · 22/01/2017 19:20

The STEAKS!! £3.29 for rump & it's yummy. Also the rack of ribs in the meat section. Any cheese/cold meat. The chocolate. Basically everything-big supporter of Aldi here EXCEPT snob-cat wont eat the cat food

Fruit cake with irish whisky 1.50 frozen goatcheese pizza 2.00 and sugary waffles 8 for 75p. But be careful about soft fruit...ive had 2 lots go rotten in days.

The full fat individual yogurt pots. So tasty and so great to be able to find full fat yogurt.

fruitpastille · 22/01/2017 19:48

I really don't get the chocolate love. Lindt is a million times better and doesn't even cost that much more as often on offer.

Greek yogurt, cheese and nuts are pretty good. Popcorn good value. Camping bargains are good on the summer!

You need to have in mind what you would usually pay as some things aren't that much cheaper.

Scholes34 · 22/01/2017 22:51

Flour Somebody mentioned the flour. Yes, the flour is excellent. And the chocolate too.
