frankie001 · 22/01/2017 04:46

I've never had a post deleted, therefore I am the Gary Linekar of mn.

PenelopeFlintstone · 22/01/2017 05:02

I thought I was getting the hang of mumsnet but I've never heard of Ahem. (Misplaced growing confidence SadGrin)

MarilynWhirlwindRocks · 22/01/2017 06:15

Well, I failed my own criteria: Blush

Apparently, it was a fox-themed bonnet, not mask (did kind of wonder what the connection to Easter was)

bibbitybobbityyhat · 22/01/2017 08:40

Actually, I'm going to revise my definition: you are a newb if you came here post Penis Beaker.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 22/01/2017 09:26

How do you recognise new posters though. They could have just simply name changed and surely noone would know every user name on here.
Not only that but There could be someone who's been on here since day 1, but. You've just never came across them.

bibbitybobbityyhat · 22/01/2017 09:53

It's not about recognising posters though. Or am I missing something?

candycoatedwaterdrops · 22/01/2017 10:02

Never. You're always learning. Been here since mid 2011 and there are still unwritten rules that I miss or forget. It's hard work sometimes!

SmallBee · 22/01/2017 10:04

Has anyone got a,link to the bonnet thread? I am unaware of this.
My favourite MN thread is still the lemon drizzle cake one.

candycoatedwaterdrops · 22/01/2017 10:04

I used to get deleted quite a bit on a certain type of thread. That was because I allowed myself to get wound up by overt and covert disablism. I am able to express myself much better and keep within the rules on those sorts of threads these days. I just mutter "atrocious disablist cunt" instead of writing it and clicking post. Grin

JennyOnAPlate · 22/01/2017 10:07

I had no idea my profile would tell me when I joined!

It's my 6 year anniversary this month Shock

TheNiffler · 22/01/2017 10:38

Sinister Easter Bonnet - if you click on the OP's name there used to be a pic of it too

ICantThinkOfAUsernameH · 22/01/2017 22:50

I never name change as I get paranoid that I'll be suspected as a furry ugly creature troll so I've probably outed myself loads Blush

Stonewash · 22/01/2017 23:03

2 seconds Smile

PaulAnkaTheDog · 22/01/2017 23:21

I still feel like a newbie.

TheNiffler · 27/01/2017 15:51

OMG I found the Sinister Easter Bonnet pic!

I've been here about 12 years, but I don't feel established. I don't think other mnetters recognise my name.

ICantThinkOfAUsernameH · 27/01/2017 17:55

Oh my days that bonnet!
12 years is a long time Shock

altiara · 27/01/2017 18:04

Been a member nearly 11 years but only became addicted to mumsnetting last year and that was with everyone making stuff in the sandwich toaster and the stealing stuff out of the work fridge/lady who filled the fridge up which I don't think I ever finished reading about.

MuteButtonisOn · 27/01/2017 18:25

I NC regularly but Worra handed me my arse on my first post years ago. I got learned proper.

ICantThinkOfAUsernameH · 27/01/2017 18:56

I get so over involved in threads then get frustrated when I don't see an update Blush
need a hobby

11 years, still a Newbie.

I think you have to be in the first 10000 members to be established. I was 40000ish.

I remember when all round these 'ere parts were fields. AIBU was still a twinkle in a Mumsnet eye.

Maybe I am getting old Grin

GalenJustGalen · 27/01/2017 19:09

Well I've been here about a month and I'd say I've pretty much seen all there is to see and now know all there is to know about what it means to be a MNetter.

Hahaha, JUST KIDDING. I'm a confident person in real life but this place can be fucking terrifying and I'm completely fraught every time I think of posting.

I've lived on Cape Cod for decades, but I'll always be a wash-ashore since I wasn't born here. I imagine Mumsnet is a bit like that.

I did just namechange though (people were shortening TheOtherGalen to TheOther and I was starting to feel kind of alienated), and now I'm inordinately proud of having accomplished something on The List.

Somerville · 27/01/2017 19:13

Whoever suggested AS their first username - genius!! I'm about to do that.

GalenJustGalen · 27/01/2017 19:31

Whoever suggested AS their first username - genius!! I'm about to do that.

I've re-read that sentence three times and I still have no idea what it means.

Unticking the "stop being a rank newbie" box on my to-do list now.

Somerville · 27/01/2017 19:33

AS = advance searching Smile
