Been a member 2 years now I think and still feel new Blush

OP posts:
TheNiffler · 21/01/2017 21:59

I had the remarkably (for me) intelligent idea of AS my first NN. Apparently, I've been here 7 years in August.

I'm a noob. 😳

TheNiffler · 21/01/2017 22:02

Sorry Navy, that probably needed a Grin after it.

You are still a newbie until you get a 'Ahem' from the Ivory Tower.

ICantThinkOfAUsernameH · 21/01/2017 22:04

Ah I've a long way to go yet then Grin

londonrach · 21/01/2017 22:07

How do you check how long you here for as think its longer than i think

Highalert · 21/01/2017 22:13

You need to know who Sharon is
What Moldiegate was all about
And what happened on that NYE.

bibbitybobbityyhat · 21/01/2017 22:13

I reckon after 3+ years you're a novice rather than a newb.

Soubriquet · 21/01/2017 22:17

Let's see:-

Yep!

I've had my arse handed to me and rejected it because I was NOT U Wink

Ahh I did one better. Someone made a troll account with my old username and pretended to be me. And someone recognised it wasn't!

Own a MN scarf
Ah come on darling. Scarves are so last year!

Instantly recognise a PBP
I was banned at one point. Does that count? I pleaded for forgiveness though so maybe I've lost all moral high ground for that one

SmallBee · 21/01/2017 22:17

You've definitely got to be able to spot all troll threads before it reaches a second page.

I've been here four years but still think of myself as a newbie.

TheLovelyLinda · 21/01/2017 22:18

Not sure how long I've been about, about maybe a year or so before Geoffreygate.

MycatsaPirate · 21/01/2017 22:19

I have had:

A post (or two) deleted by MNHQ
A thread moved to classics
A thread in trending
Been recognised on another thread
Had my arse handed to me on my own thread

I've only been here four or five years. i think. I shall have to check. But I did join and then leave and then came back again. I'm getting old, I find it hard to remember what I had for tea tbh, never mind stuff like joining dates.

MirandaWest · 21/01/2017 22:23

I've been here 13 years. Still feel like I'm new occasionally Grin

Sparklingbrook · 21/01/2017 22:25

I have been deleted once. My crime? Sarcasm. Shock

TheNiffler · 21/01/2017 22:32

I've been deleted loads, I can be quite sarcastic I guess.

Sparklingbrook · 21/01/2017 22:35

Apparently if I had put a smiley at the end it would have been ok. Hmm

CaraAspen · 21/01/2017 22:40

I have been here since the 21st November and I don't feel in the least bit new.

MillionToOneChances · 21/01/2017 22:49

Oh. My. God. Turns out I've been here ten and a half years Shock

Only found AIBU a few years ago though and got brave enough to post myself a couple of years ago, I think.

Politix · 22/01/2017 01:55

I name change all the time and I've renewed my account too so I've no idea how long I've been on here ....but it's been a while. I've been quoted in the Daily Mail several times which seems a MN right of passage. Luckily it was nothing cringe'y - I think that means I'm no longer a newbe.

UnbornMortificado · 22/01/2017 02:03

12 years.

The only thing I've had is the "ahem"

Hmm. Been here a couple years, I think, and I'm definitely still a newb especially by the following:

Thread in trending
Briefly, but fell out really quickly.

Thread moved to classics
Not yet but I have hope!

Thread mentioned in the weekly round up
No

Posted in AIBU, have your arse handed to you on a silver plater, and come back to admit you were, in fact BU
Have posted on AIBU but have managed not to say anything egregiously stupid and thus my arse has stayed where it belongs.

Be recognised on a thread that you didn't start
Not that I'm aware of!

Own a MN scarf
Wait there are SCARVES? Where?!?

Instantly recognise a PBP
I'm not quite that good yet.

(And I still have no jeffing idea who or what moldies are)

MarilynWhirlwindRocks · 22/01/2017 04:38

From what I can discern, your probationary Newbie status ends, and you are welcomed to the Inner Sanctum, if , and only if, you are able to explain the relevance to Mumsnet of the following terms:

  1. Pom Bears
  1. Penis Beaker
  1. Easter Fox Mask

(Ts & Cs apply; privileges may be revoked immediately upon mention of 'Hun', 'Totes Amazeballs' and 'Hubby', or use of indiscriminate hugging.
You will be banished to NetMums.
They forbid swearing there ).
