I do appreciate this is an open forum and no one should be posting personal or identifying details as this can be read by the whole world.
But Daily Mail are now starting controversial threads with the sole intention of trying to start a bun fight and using the gleaned fodder.
The recent SAHM thread is a case in point.
First time poster, goady question, and bingo once the inevitable arguments start it appears in the DM within 24 hours.

And yet Mumsnet comes down on anyone troll accusing.
What;s the answer?

Wannabe the MNHQ should post a warning.

As others have said on other threads about this issue, just because YOU know 'everyone' can read the posts, doesn't mean every single other person does.

BigBadWolves · 12/01/2017 09:54

Honestly I'm sure 90% of the stories that end up there are started by Trolls so they probably don't care what appears where. If someone was genuinely afraid for their lives because of violence from a partner etc the last place they should be is on mn, and I suspect most genuine posters would realise a call to the police/lawyer/WomansAid would make more sense than canvassing the great intellect of mn

Sparklingbrook · 12/01/2017 09:56

Adults using the internet should know that what they post is public. we spend enough time educating children about the dangers after all....

MNHQ could post a warning but it would be a bit patronising.

Seriously this daily mail shit is boring. They don't know who the fuck your are, it's on the internet not being printed in a newspaper get over it.

"As others have said on other threads about this issue, just because YOU know 'everyone' can read the posts, doesn't mean every single other person does." well then they have no business posting here. Honestly, this is a site for adults. The first rule of posting on public forums is that you know that what you post is public. MN is not here to parent stupid adults who should really know better.

If my child started posting private details online I would stop him from going online until he had a better grasp of reality. If you post here having found the site through google and having read multiple posts you didn't have to sign up to see then the next bit of realisation is somewhat obvious is it not?

neonrainbow · 12/01/2017 10:25

What do you mean people don't know that a site that you don't have to be a member of to read isn't private? Why should MHHQ have to police stupidity?

Well said Wanna.
