Rather than having a go at them on Twitter and describing them as second rate actresses. Hmm

Otherwise some people might just think you're a bit sensitive.

If that's how he's going to react when people call him out on things, he's going to have a very long 4 years in the White House

I just hope the American voters learn from this debacle

BigBadgers · 14/01/2017 08:33

It must be a real dilemma for the intelligence agencies though. Trump has a lot of support from very vocal, heavily armed people. He has openly talked about vote rigging and conspiracies to keep him out of the white house and arguably encouraged his supporters to respond with violence if he didn't get in. They must have to balance up the security risk of leaving him in office and the possible political and social fall out they remove him. I'm glad I'm not the one responsible for walking that tight rope.

Roussette · 14/01/2017 09:09

Doesn't this prove there was a cover up - it's all very dodgy.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 14/01/2017 09:10

Independents take on Christopher Steele and the hacking which claims that the FBI were sitting on it for months, and that Giuliani has close ties with many in the FBI and knew things were going to happen before they did.

If what is says is true, then it points to deliberate corruption.

squishysquirmy · 14/01/2017 09:11

I'm still not convinced that he is controlled by Putin. He may have strong financial ties to Russia, and the Russians almost certainly have some material on him, but if he is a Manchurian candidate then I don't think he knows it! Stupid, arrogant people like Trump are easily manipulated, but he is also highly impulsive and will always put himself and his ego first - even if he has the self awareness to realise quite how much Russia has helped him I doubt he feels any sense of loyalty to them.
I worry that Putin has bitten off more than he can chew, it won't be pretty when their bromance crashed and burns.
I think he is much more likely to tweet classified information than he is to feed it back to Russia.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 14/01/2017 09:12

Same article as Rousette!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 14/01/2017 09:15

I think he doesn't know he is controlled by Putin, rather than he isn't controlled. But he probably feels that he must be an amazingly wonderful guy to be able to be such friends with Russia when others haven't been able to be.

PacificDogwod · 14/01/2017 09:17

I don't think that even Putin and all his Scary Men can 'control' The Great Fart Grin

or is it gallows humour?

squishysquirmy · 14/01/2017 09:19

You know things are bad when the only consolation is fart jokes!

Roussette · 14/01/2017 09:20

Great minds kitten !

I think you've nailed it with your last post. 'Look at me. Putin didn't like you but he likes me and we'll carry on liking each other. You couldn't manage that, it's because I'm such a charismatic and successful guy'.

He's a simple creature is The Trumper.

SinisterBumFacedCat · 14/01/2017 09:26

Haven't read the whole thread it agree with the op. I was watching the news and suddenly his tweets came up and the whole thing just felt so undignified. Politics really has become a race to the bottom.

BigBadgers · 14/01/2017 09:28

I don't know if I would prefer that he was controlled by Putin due to good old fashioned blackmail or just because he feels all strong and manly getting to hang out with the big boys. I think Putin would eat the Trump for breakfast. He is a seriously scary man. As soon as he has no use for him Putin will have no qualms about throwing Trump to the wolves in whatever way best suits his purpose.

PacificDogwod · 14/01/2017 09:29

Yep, OYBBK, I too think you've got it with your interpretation.

Trump does not have the self-awareness to recognise if he were beholden to somebody like Putin.
Not sure whether that is more or less scary though... Hmm

BigBadgers · 14/01/2017 09:30

Fart jokes always cheer me up :o

PacificDogwod · 14/01/2017 09:31

Sometimes only puerile humour will do and living with 4 DSs as I do I've got lots of fart jokes in my repertoire even before The Great Fart came to prominence Grin

originalmavis · 14/01/2017 09:45

Hmmmmm. Undignified seems to be the word... but do the Trumpers think that they are/want to be dignified?

It's like insulting a dog by calling it hairy.

UnGoogleable · 14/01/2017 12:14

I think you're both right OYBBK and squishy - it's about Trump's ego and his belief that he will do great, great, things. Amazing.

BUT, I believe that Russia will have been collecting compromising information on Trump for several years. This will be kept up their sleeve until they really need it to apply leverage.

So they hacked and manipulated the campaign to get their puppet in place, and now they'll sit back and apply the pressure as and when they need to.

It's all rather alarming. But I still think that the very fact that the intelligence agencies are warning foreign governments not to share information with their own commander in Chief because they don't trust him is grounds for impeachment in itself.

How on earth can he possibly do the job he's elected to do if his own people don't trust him with the information?

Roussette · 14/01/2017 12:45

How in the name of all that is holy, can this be legit?

The Trump is pressing ahead with expanding his golf resort in Scotland... new 450 roomed hotel , timeshare complex, housing estate etc. When he gave that press conference, it was emphasised that all business would take place in the US, there would be no foreign business, and all would be undertaken by his sons. Didn't take him long did it...

originalmavis · 14/01/2017 12:53

I love all the 'why would Russia want to gather on him then - he wasn't a politician?'. They would follow/spy on bloody tourists not all that long ago.

InformalRoman · 14/01/2017 13:50

Trump has had political aspirations for a long, long time.

Rousette, it's scandalous that the Aberdeenshire golf course was built in the first place - the local planning committee knocked it back as it didn't conform to the local development plan and structure plan plus it's built on a SSSI. Trump appealed to the Scottish Government and his ex-mate Alex Salmond and it got pushed through. He is continually trying to tweak the plans to get more economic gain from it.

And Trump's recent comments about telling his staff to beware of cameras is ironic. The Menie golf course is covered by CCTV yet they forgot to register for the Data Protection Act, and there is an upcoming court case about a lady who nipped into the dunes allegedly for a wee being unlawfully filmed by Trump staff.

RedToothBrush · 14/01/2017 13:53

Mr I'll Sue Your Pant Off, never threatened to sue Buzzfeed.

Odd.

Why?

Lweji · 14/01/2017 13:56

Excellent point.

squishysquirmy · 14/01/2017 14:17

Great point Red.
Ungoogleable, I absolutely agree that Russia will almost certainly have compromising information on Trump of some sort, and that he will be easily manipulated by Putin. I just don't believe that he would ever admit to himself the level of help he had from Russia in the election, no matter how much evidence was presented to him. And I'm not sure how long the Putin-Trump love in will last, no matter what blackmail material is out there.
I'm not sure which is worse - the idea that Trump could be controlled by Putin, or the idea that he's so arrogant and impulsive that this control breaks down in a catastrophic way.

Lweji · 14/01/2017 14:25

The latest:

"INTELLIGENCE INSIDERS NOW CLAIM THE TRUMP DOSSIER IS "A COMPLETE FRAUD!" @OANN"

Sure. And the capitals make it more believable too.

He got really angry with Congressman John Lewis for saying the election was fraudulent or illegitimate. Rigged even.
Two tweets. One "sad".

Roussette · 14/01/2017 15:17

Informal wee seems to follow Trumper around doesn't it?!
