Marker moustache on DS face ! Help!

igotnotimeforthis · 08/01/2017 19:56

I need ideas on how to get a drawn (by DH no less) marker moustache off my DS face.
DS has been through some vigorous scrubbing in the bath but no luck.

I'm quite annoyed with DH but in his defence he thought these were washable markers - but no. DS has washable markers but they got mixed with the non washable ones that ge got for Christmas from GPs.
(I'll be binning them tomorrow to avoid further confusion....)

But for now - it's first day back at school tomorrow- how will I explain this?!?Confused

If non of the other suggestions work you can buy wipes for a few pence at Superdrug that remove hair dye. Never found anything they can't take off my skin and being made for skin they don't cause harm

CheshireChat · 08/01/2017 23:06

CrazyGreyhoundLady Silly question, but are they just Superdrug's own makeup remover wipes or special ones for dye?

I could really do with something like that.

finova · 08/01/2017 23:06

Baby wipes
Then baby oil.
Worked for Sharpie.

LiviaDrusillaAugusta · 08/01/2017 23:24

Slightly off track but for an adult, washing up liquid and a green scourer works wonders...

CrazyGreyhoundLady · 08/01/2017 23:26

ChesireChat they are with the hairdyes, special ones for getting the inevitable tideline of dye off your skin

I feel as though my presence here would be less than helpful Grin

Do you have a slightly exfoliating face scrub? That may be your best option.

Or there's baby lotion, it's the best for removing make up... or was last time I used it!

What else is there?! Oh bless him. Daddy definitely needs a matching one... or can you do Daddy a mono brow as he sleeps? Seems only fair! SmileGrinSmile (try not to snigger too much! I'd laugh too much and wake him mid face painting session!)

londonginge86 · 09/01/2017 00:05

Clinique make up remover definitely works in this situation!!

CheshireChat · 09/01/2017 04:04

Ooh, I'll need to grab some, I always end up looking like a Smurf (my hair is currently blue). Thanks Smile.

Thried vodka and baby wipes again - didn't work

I don't have baby oli, shaving foam (even if it was a joke I would give it a try), nail polish remover.... it seems we really don't have most things inthe houseConfused

The moustache is more like a black scribble- it's not a very stylish one - not like the one in Friends

Tried, that is

Just tried hair spray and hair mousse (just in caseHmm)
Still nothing

I'm starting to get pissed off at people who sell these sort of markers for young kids
(Even though it's the adult that fucked up)

The good thing is, because it's not a very fancy moustache i can probably just say at school that DS did it himself ....
Although why I'm covering for DH I don't know

Turps?
Ok, maybe not.
How about that micellar cleansing water stuff?

Mrsemcgregor · 09/01/2017 07:34

Vinegar? Probably won't work but my Nan swears it's magical.

passthewineplz · 09/01/2017 07:42

Have you tried hand sanitizer? That should get it off

eurochick · 09/01/2017 07:59

Nail varnish remover should do the job.

JsOtherHalf · 09/01/2017 08:16

DON'T USE MAGIC ERASER ON YOUR DC'S SKIN

Go on, ask me how I am so sure of this...Blush

It took off the top layer of skin on DS, causing a graze. I

RocketPockets · 09/01/2017 08:29

If you haven't already left for school soak a dishcloth in hot water with some washing up liquid and just hold it against the marker. I've never tried it myself so not sure how well it might work!

Gooseberryfools · 09/01/2017 08:35

Sometimes just a long shower and time submerged in water can help

hungryhippo90 · 09/01/2017 12:08

I've an idea!! Take him swimming! The chlorine will remove it!!

madcatwoman61 · 09/01/2017 12:16

cx5221 · 09/01/2017 12:20

Sorry I really have no suggestion I was just hoping for a photo

BabychamSocialist · 09/01/2017 15:34

This is brilliant!

DS2 once managed to draw weird eyebrows on DS1 when they were about 3, so we were pissing ourselves laughing for about a week because DS1 looked permanently confused Grin

It took about a week of washing and showering to get it all off but it did fade after one or two washes.
