AIBU to be so fed up and confused on pyjama issue

AIBU to be serverly annoyed with all the judgements on pyjama wearers?

Can someone explain to me what the big deal over wearing pyjamas is? I don't understand. I shower daily, I wash my clothes if they are used/unclean. When I get up I get dressed go about my day, come home and shower and put pyjama pants on until I get into bed. I take them off before bed as I only sleep in my underwear. If I don't have anything to do in the day I'll wake up and put the pyjama pants on because they are comfortable and warm. If I then realise I have to go out and make a run to the store I'll just go like this as I usually have my children (4m and 2y) with me and if not I'm trying to do the shop as fast as I can to get back to them as my DH is not the best with small children and often gets flustered. I am not choosing to wear them out of laziness, I choose to wear them out of comfort. They are clean, I am clean. Nothing inappropriate is exposed. So I don't understand how it is hurting anybody. I don't think it's fair to sit and judge people who chose to wear pyjamas and be comfortable and I don't understand why people are so offended by this?
I'm sure there are a few people that do wear them because they are lazy and slobbish but I don't think it's fair to judge all people that wear them this way.

SVJAA

I do agree. We're talking about pyjamas. Not a life and death issue (hopefully).

So, can we stop being nasty, advance serarching or taking things too personally?

I also don't want this thread to be pulled

SVJAA · 09/01/2017 14:56

1horatio the voice of reason!
To be fair, if I saw one of my friends kicking about in jammies outside I'd ask if they were OK. If a random person was doing it I wouldn't bat an eyelid. But then where I live it's not unusual, so I'm used to it.

FizzBombBathTime · 09/01/2017 14:56

So we draw a line under the 'you had a baby so you can't possibly be thinking straight!' Mentality?

Cool!

I want to know who wears their pyjamas to pizza express.

Girlsworld92 · 09/01/2017 14:57

I do exactly the same as you. I don't sleep in them but use them for mooching round the house as they are comfy. Tbh I don't care what people think. I shower everyday but If we are having a quiet morning at home and I need to pop for a loaf of bread for example I will go in my pjs. People who get bothered about this so much need to lighten up. I love my pjs x

HorridHenryrule · 09/01/2017 14:57

SVJ she is guessing that she searched her. MizzEmma didn't say she did. It's not nice to make accusations she may have been on a previous thread that she was on.

SVJAA · 09/01/2017 14:59

HorridHenryrule it's finished now, trying to get the thread back to the original issue. The more it gets dragged up, the more likely it is that the thread will be pulled. Can we just stop now please?

1horatio · 09/01/2017 15:04

So....
Pyjamas. The 'new' trend of wearing pyjamas to the red carpet etc? Do you think that was influenced by the onesie culture or the other way around?

HorridHenryrule · 09/01/2017 15:05

Fizz I didn't say I struggled who likes being deprived of sleep certainly not me. Last year I was reading books about how to raise boys not engaging in debates. I also homeschool as well I didn't have time to struggle or engage in nonsense.

1horatio · 09/01/2017 15:06

pyjamas?

Jammies? Jimjams? Nightwear? Let's go back to that?

SVJAA · 09/01/2017 15:06

I saw that in some magazines and the dentist and thought it was a piss take. Was it actually real?

1horatio · 09/01/2017 15:07

Oh yes. Very real.

Just like the underwear as outerwear trend. Where Victoria's Secret had to pull some items, if I recall correctly.

HorridHenryrule · 09/01/2017 15:08

Pyjama thread being pulled oh the horror of it. Alright I will only talk about the topic.

CaraAspen · 09/01/2017 15:08

"Jokeaboutmyhotchoc

I'll wear my pjs if I want to. I don't give two fucks what anyone thinks about me.

I personally think anyone wearing Boden looks an utter tit but I certainly wouldn't be complaining about them to supermarkets.

Wear whatever you want. Can't think who has so little going on in their lives they find the time to care about shit like this."

Someone dressed in some normal Boden clothes and you dresssed in your pyjamas - erm... two completely different approaches to what is acceptable.

FizzBombBathTime · 09/01/2017 15:09

So horrid now you're judging my decision to use mumsnet because my kids are small? Classy.

I don't need to read books to know how to look after my children.

FizzBombBathTime · 09/01/2017 15:10

The red carpet thing someone posted it earlier. Wasn't it Jessica Alba?

1horatio · 09/01/2017 15:11

Wearing genuine clothes (even if they're from... gasp, H&M or a bit too revealing) isn't the same as wearing pyjamas.

FizzBombBathTime · 09/01/2017 15:12

There

AIBU to be so fed up and confused on pyjama issue
SVJAA · 09/01/2017 15:12

1horatio wow that's quite weird. I mean it's one thing jumping to the shop in your jammies but actually pretending it's high fashion? Oki doki, I must be missing a trick Grin but then I'm hardly known for my fashion sense so...
Horrid and Cara stop it, we tried to get the thread back to the original question yet you seem utterly determined to keep having a pop at Fizz who said that she was happy to let it go. Talk about pyjamas or go and get your kicks elsewhere ffs. It's unecessary and nasty.

1horatio · 09/01/2017 15:12

fizz

I posted one from Kaley Cuco (?)...

CaraAspen · 09/01/2017 15:12

"FizzBombBathTime

And it's irrelevant. She just didn't like that I disagreed with her. So resorted to nastiness"

HmmYou have been pretty "nasty" to others yourself. Kettle and pot spring to mind.

FizzBombBathTime · 09/01/2017 15:13

Oh cara do give up won't you dear. You're boring me now.

FizzBombBathTime · 09/01/2017 15:14

Yes that was the other one horatio the green Lacey sort of suit thing

SVJAA · 09/01/2017 15:14

I wonder who started the nightwear as outerwear thing? Did it take off?

CaraAspen · 09/01/2017 15:14

"MizzEmma

Fizz how is that patronising? I was trying to be kind.

You have said that you have a tiny baby and I can see that you were up through the night posting on this thread, so sleep deprivation isn't a big leap - especially as you apologised to a previous poster for misreading their post because you'd been up all night with the baby.

It's really quite exasperating trying to give you the benefit of the doubt Fizz.

If your continuing rude and aggressive posting style isn't due to lack of sleep and hormones I'll just conclude that it's just your normal position and bear that in mind for the future.

I do think that if even the OP asks you to stop posting on her side you've really got to stop and try to take an objective look at what you are writing.

I'm not trying to be mean, goady, patronising, condescending or any of the other things you've accused me on this thread. I'm trying to give you some genuine feedback.

I'm quite happy to engage in robust debate but I do object to my posts being mischaracterised."

Fair comment.
