AIBU?

AIBU to start a 'what did you eat today?' thread?

Given that there were lots of replies on the spending money on food thread, would anyone be interested in having a thread where you could post what you/your kids had eaten that day? Might be good for new ideas, see what people who are spending very little make which could be good for people trying to cut back etc?

If you are not interested think this is the most pointless and boring thread idea ever you could just ignore?

DH & Teenager had:

Breakfast - porridge with banana and milk, weak tea
Lunch - jacket with beans and cheese
Dinner - crustless asparagus and red onion quiche, cherry tomatoes and green leaves
Snacks - cheese and biscuits, apples, yoghurt.

I had (and in my defence I have Hyperemesis Gravidarium so I'm kind of off a lot of food...) or I'm a hobbit, one of the two...

Breakfast - as above
Second breakfast to compensate for loss of first breakfast - jam doughnut
Lunch - as above, go me!
Dinner - the asparagus and the cherry tomatoes. Some of them anyway.
Snacks - toasted tea cake, crackers, bugles, ice lollies

My diet is normally a lot better... honest...

Here is what the rest of the family had:

Breakfast - DD boiled egg and a slice of buttered toast, DS2 Weetabix, DS1 and DH Bran Flakes (DS1 probably had toast too).
Lunch - Chicken Soup with crusty rolls, mince pies.
Dinner - Sweet and sour chicken, egg fried rice, stir fried vegetables and prawn crackers (homemade apart from prawn crackers)

Not sure about snacks, they've all eaten fruit. DS1 went to the cinema tonight so no doubt ate a bucket of popcorn.

Me & DS1: linseed bread with smashed up avocado, sliced tomatoes and hemp oil, home made coconut kefir and a hearty rendition of kumbaya

My Lunch: Linseed bread with Waitrose Christmas Brussels pate, tomatoes, yellow pepper & hummus, Teapigs Matcha Green tea with milk

My scavenged over several hours Dinner: Fuji apple with organic peanut butter, prunes, bite of Stilton, Bite of Manchego, few almonds, and the last 2 bites of egg salad

Pepsi Max & Spicy Chai Latte

DH:
B: Spinach Bourekia with plain organic yoghurt & espresso

L: cold Courgette frittata with green leaf salad, balsamic dressing and pine nuts. Water & espresso

D: focaccia, hummus, continental meats, cherry tomatoes, olives, smoked mozarella and red wine

DCS 2&3: went to local deli, probably ate 3 pastries each naughty naughty

DCs: a variety as everyone had different schedules today: DC1) Left over Duchy Organic Chipolatas, Heinz Organic Ketchup, Japanese rice crackers, carrot sticks and hummus, apple & water

DCs2&3) Home made Egg salad sandwich on Linseed soya bread, steamed organic broccoli, Clementines, water.

2DC: Chicken & Vegetable Gyoza, dipping sauce, sliced cucumber, edamame in the pod, water, Christmas chocolates

Other DC out with friends.

Snacks: mixed nuts, strawberries, organic yoghurts, sesame snaps, halva

This is insane. We really need to all eat the same thing - it looks so simple here seeing other families that all eat the same foods!

Breakfast: DS1 (nearly 4) had egg and soldiers, DS2 (8 months) had some porridge, I had cheese on toast and DW had coffee.

Lunch: fish fingers with mash and broccoli

Tea: pasta with red pepper sauce (waitrose from a jar) including peas mixed in. DS2 had some previously frozen homemade pasta sauce with his pasta.

Snacks: DS1 had frozen grapes, a clementine and a couple of celebrations, DS2 had some banana (was offered but refused clementine) and DW and I had more than a couple of celebrations!

DS1 drinks very diluted squash and DS2 is breastfed, we drink water or squash.

MIL is in hospital recovering from a stroke and we've all had the chest infection going round so simplicity was the main goal today

Breakfast: porridge and milky coffee, shared my porridge with baby DS

Lunch (at motorway service station): cheese and ham sandwich, bottle of ice tea, Krispy Kreme doughnut. Let baby have a few bites of my sandwich and ate a few of his cucumber sticks.

Dinner (DBros birthday dinner): Jacket potato with cheese and beans and coleslaw, a few bits of salami olives and bread, 2 more doughnuts (I bought twelve as a present for DBros birthday, so doughnuts in liu of birthday cake), apple juice and water, cup of tea. Usually eat less/more healthily but today was travelling plus a birthday meal.

Brunch: 2 boiled eggs and two slides of buttered granary bread
Snack: apple, grapes and satsuma
Snack: 2 x chocolate biscuits
Dinner: steak, salad, half a pepper stuffed with beans and tomato, handful of chips

I'm supposed to be going low GI, but I'm easing myself into it.

DH & little DCs all had porridge - made by me so I didn't have time for anything except a latte before having to leave to take DD for French lesson.

Lunch - DH didn't eat (unusually) and DD had pasta with grated cheese and DS had eggy bread. I had Xmas leftover cheese and biscuit and made a green shake for me and DH.

Dinner was going to be fish and chips for a treat as we we were going out, but DC didn't want it (wtf?) -?DD wanted baked potato with beans and cheese and DS wanted fish finger sandwich. DD is an awesome eater so happy to let her have what she wants, and DS is a TERRIBLE, selective eater so the fact he's not asking for icecream is a result. Usually they would have the same and a 'proper' dinner.
Kids snacked on apples, grapes, pears and a doughnut while out shopping.

Me and DH are tag teaming a friend's leaving do (to NZ 😢) tonight as no babysitter so he had steak and mash while I drank red wine, and now I'm home, drinking Christmas Baileys contemplating bed or food. More cheese?
