AIBU to start a 'what did you eat today?' thread?

Given that there were lots of replies on the spending money on food thread, would anyone be interested in having a thread where you could post what you/your kids had eaten that day? Might be good for new ideas, see what people who are spending very little make which could be good for people trying to cut back etc?

If you are not interested think this is the most pointless and boring thread idea ever you could just ignore?

Pregnant and craving the carbs! Today I have had:
Breakfast - toasted cinnamon and raisin bagel with butter, a nectarine, decaf coffee & orange juice
Lunch - Pizza with pepperoni and mushroom
Dinner - Didn't really fancy a proper meal, so I'm having a mixture of snacks - raspberries, blueberries, an apple with peanut butter, McCoys salt and vinegar crisps and a hardboiled egg.

Breakfast: Special K (Tesco version), oats & milk

Cafe brunch: Bacon roll, plus egg yolk & toast from DS2 leftovers, coffee

Apple

6 squares of chocolate to stem tears on hearing that our childcare arrangements for next few months have just fallen through....

Beef brisket slow cooked with onions, carrots, swede, bbq/tom sauce & roast potatoes.

Glass 🍷 and packet crisps while trawling childcare.co.uk & au-pair-world...

All interspersed with tea, water & squash. Not too bad for a weekend - could have done better on fruit/veg front.

I had a lie in today so late breakfast at 11 of 2 slices of toast and marmite and a coffee. Banana and a cup of tea mid afternoon. Chicken balti and a naan bread for dinner. A couple of glasses of wine. Drank lots of water throughout the day.

DS1 has been at work, came in starved and had sausages, bacon, beans, toast and cheese.

DS2 has grazed throughout the day on biscuits, crisps and ice lollies. He's gone out to Pizza Hut this evening with friends.

Today I've had:

2 pieces of wholemeal toast with butter
About 5 chocolates (celebrations)
A packet of frazzles
Spaghetti bolognese
Lemon cheesecake and cream

I'm not 100% sure what the elder 3 dc ate for breakfast and lunch as they got their own but they all had spaghetti bolognese for their tea.

2 year old dd had:

B - 1 weetabix with almond milk, 1.5 fruit pouches

L - ham and mayo wrap, a few grapes, half a chopped apple

D - spaghetti bolognese

Sn - a banana, dairy free choc bar, a few little marshmallows pinched from dn's birthday cake

Drinks were lots of tea and water for me and a glass of diet lemonade, mainly water for the 2 year old as well as two bottles of her formula milk and a small glass of fresh orange juice with her tea

Not a great day food-wise for me as we needed to go shopping. Should be better tomorrow as we now have some nice food in.

Me, DP and DSS (11)

All ate bacon sandwiches and xmas chocolates as brunch

Snack around 3pm, I had sardines on rice cakes, they had yogurts.

They went to the cinema and had popcorn, I stayed at home.

At 8.30 when they got back we had an apero: kirs for DP and I, juice for DSS, and pesto-feta toasty things

At 9pm we ate dinner: lasagna & salad. Then cheese and bread and a few chocolates.

About to play a board game before bed and I will probably have a gin and tonic.

We are a French/English household so mix foods and eating culture quite a bit.

Porridge and banana for breakfast

The dc had a party so had a bag full of sweets and a piece of cake each before lunch Hmm meaning they each had a boiled egg, a piece of toast and salad sticks in a very small portion for lunch. I had homemade veg soup from yesterday.

I just couldn't be arsed to cook tonight so the dc had spag bol which was frozen from last week although according to the other thread i'm not allowed to call it spag bol because it's such a bastardized version Grin

I currently have a frozen (ready meal) mariners pie in the micro which i'm having with peas and sweetcorn.

'Homemade Nando's' for dinner - Sainsburys cook in the bag peri peri chicken, savoury rice, homemade coleslaw with beetroot and half mayo half sour cream, courgette spaghetti, homemade guacamole. Bit of a treat after back to work / school week.
DDs had some of their Christmas chocolate for dessert. DH and I have had a couple of G&Ts!!

today we woke up late and were rushing to get to dd's activity so had hastily bought pain au chocolat from the co-op as breakfast, except ds who had a yoghurt and some flapjack.

naughty lunch out - dh had curry, I had sweet and sour pork with rice, dd had soup, ds had bits of everyones. ds is 17months!

dinner was rice, veg stir fry and veg miso soup.

I am keen to eat mostly veggie meals from here on - we have agreed on meat only at weekends and to aim for 3 vegan dinners a week, for various reasons.

tomorrow will be porridge and fruit, veg soup and bread, and I think butternut squash roasted with walnuts and cheese with rice for dinner, and a spinach salad.
