To think This Morning was wrong to shame this woman?

Sorry, but what business does he have to decide what someone spends their benefits on? So what if she bought a bottle of Prosecco?

He says he doesn't care about the Prosecco but it's so obvious that he does. This is a man worth £2million sitting in his ivory tower and shaming a woman for buying a £4.99 bottle of Prosecco.

Is this what this country has become? A country where we deny people any pleasure or fun because they are on benefits?

BBA exfuckingactly!!

DebtfreeEarly2018 · 07/01/2017 15:25

YABU, sorry.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 07/01/2017 15:25

Its an argument on the internet. Matt. Its not the end of the flipping world. We're all big girls. I'm sure we can take. People disagreeing with us..
Threads like this will always attract arguments as people have such strong feelings.

CannotEvenDeal · 07/01/2017 15:26

There are thousands who have died trying to claim benefits or who have been wrongly sanctioned, but let's not talk about that, eh? Because that doesn't fit your narrative of everyone being a scrounger and might require you to realise the vast majority of people aren't living it up.

(Adressed directly to me)

But you didn't want an argument and you didn't want to discuss benefits here.

Ok then.

amispartacus · 07/01/2017 15:27

Plenty of other places to debate benefits

I don't think people are debating benefits but they are discussing this person - which seems natural to do - and probably something she feels happy about as it's all part of the publicity.

It mentions in the article She's has 4 children by 4 fathers. I see not one wiff of critic for them

There not on multiple tv shows making dicks of themselves by being goady fuckers. She is.

YouHadMeAtCake · 07/01/2017 15:28

Livia Grin

LiviaDrusillaAugusta · 07/01/2017 15:28

And we aren't going to report it to spare your blushes

MrsMattBomer · 07/01/2017 15:29

I genuinely didn't realise this wouldn't kick off. I don't usually post things like this and didn't realise people had such strong opinions on this.

I apologise to anyone who I pounced on but I didn't realise what this thread would descend into. I just want the thread gone.

No you ranted at everyone This ^^

IT'S A TENNER. A FUCKING TENNER was an early gem for someone who wasn't trying to be argumentative. Grin

LiviaDrusillaAugusta · 07/01/2017 15:30

It was your aggression that made a generally emotive subject kick off further

TheFairyCaravan · 07/01/2017 15:31

Three out of the four fathers pay maintenance. One of the children is 19 and works, I think, so maybe his father it's his father that doesn't pay?

The issue isn't the benefits, it's her attitude. She said she's been offered a job and will take it "if it fits round the children" yet she stood in the London Mayoral election. Now, imagine she'd have been elected (far fetched I know), how the fuck would that have fitted round the children?

She's a bloody attention seeker. She's a goady fucker and going on TV a week after Christmas when people on are the bare bones of their arses saying you've spent £3k on gadgets and dogs yet you don't go to work is going to put people's backs up.

LiviaDrusillaAugusta · 07/01/2017 15:31

Ooh I have been deleted Grin

FeralBeryl · 07/01/2017 15:31

MrsMatt can you hide the thread? Don't let it upset you.

LiviaDrusillaAugusta · 07/01/2017 15:32

I must admit it's fairly amusing being reported by someone who obviously has anger problems

Bluntness100 · 07/01/2017 15:34

I think it's very wrong to twist this and to say this was a rich man shaming a woman on benefits for buying prosecco. It clearly was not. It was her goody statement he had the issue with and quite rightly. There was no issue with her buying prosecco.

I agree it should be deleted because it's twisted the facts and presented something that didn't happen as fact. And that's not ok.

MrsMattBomer · 07/01/2017 15:35

Livia I haven't reported anyone, just the thread itself.

babychamcherryb · 07/01/2017 15:35

That woman is an idiot. If you make comments like that expect to be hated.

MommyTVFan · 07/01/2017 15:35

Anyone else think she has some kind of personality disorder - histrionic maybe?

Seems attention by all and any means is her oxygen. Whatever the effete on her 4 children and their dads and dads families

Utterly immoral and I think it's bordering on emotionally abusive to 'sell' explicit family, parentage, conception, unusual lifestyle stories on children, especially teenagers. Poor kids. Bet they're bullied to death. Esp if their mum is 'lying' but nobody knows. Or whatever the sort is/ are

BBCNewsRave · 07/01/2017 15:40

Cannot Somehow I don't think that when she was a teacher she cracked open a bottle to thank her headteacher/governing body/local authority.

I never thanked my bosses when I paid my rent. When I became ill and needed housing benefit I was very thankful to all those over the years who had made sure I wouldn't be sleeping on the streets. It's completely different.

And anyway - isn't that what people want? We have to doff our caps to the kind sirs who allow us to remain alive through beenfits (rather than there being suitable jobs/childcare/whatever)...

WorraLiberty · 07/01/2017 15:41

yet she stood in the London Mayoral election.

Oh I missed that little gem! Grin

Is there anything this woman won't do?

Apart from get a job and start supporting her family?

BBCNewsRave · 07/01/2017 15:42

... although I've not seen the show and expect she was very inflammatory because that's how they pick them, isn't it?

Tollygunge · 07/01/2017 15:44

Today 13:26 SheldonCRules

Benefits should provide the bare minimum of food, shelter and heat. The very fact they fund so many luxuries shows they have become a joke at the expense of tax payers.

Seriously?! So many luxuries? Two bottles of cheap proscecco at Christmas? You've obviously never lived on benefits
