To be sick of being mistaken for a teenager?

I know...I know...first world bloody problems and I realise I'll be grateful one day...

I'm turning 26 next month but I don't look it. I look younger and people regularly think I'm about 18/19 however I've had people assume I'm even younger than that! Just this morning someone asked me if I was back at school yet Shock. Turns out she thought I was 16, wtf!

I feel like people don't take me seriously because they think I'm younger and they often talk to me as if I'm younger than I am iyswim. In other words I get talked down to a lot and like I'm stupid. I have to keep reminding people that I'm a grown woman in my mid 20's and not a clueless teenager.

Anyway I'm off to get a bottle of wine now. Assuming I can remember where I left my ID...

Same. It's horrible. Everybody says you should be grateful, but they wouldn't if they had to deal with it. People treat you like a kid, talk to you in a way they wouldn't talk to other adults...not rude, just talking as if you're very young and they're trying to simplify things for you...it's not nice.

When I was 18 and looked 12, I made myself feel better saying oh when I'm 27 or something and look 20 I'll be happy at least...instead I'm late 20s looking 16 and it definitely doesn't make me happy...Maybe when people are 40+ and look younger they're happy about it?
But yea, definitely isn't a good thing to look like a kid.
I've tried to dress a little older and wear make up etc, as usually I'm casual and zero make up, but then I end up looking like an 11 year old who stole her mums make up to try and get into a 15 rated film or something Grin haha.

Sorry for my rant haha. You have my sympathies though.

In our city in the summer they set up a free zip wire over a canal, it's for aged 15 and under though, however my ex ( aged 31) used to just go make up free in jeans and a t shirt, never got refused a turn!
