Would you find this gross or is it just me?

After DH & I have now talked about this for the 3rd time I'm appealing to you to tell me if IBU or you would find this minging too......

MIL & her sister own a commercial laundry business they launder towels, bedding etc for hotels, b&b's & holiday cottages etc.

I went to the laundry just before Christmas to drop off some cards etc & took 3 yo DD.

I went to the loo & when I came back MIL was pushing DD round in one of the big laundry carts on wheels full of dirty sheets. They were definitely dirty as having helped out in there before I know things only go in that cart before being washed. Next salute she has DD burrowing down in amongst the washing & playing peekaboo.

Don't get me wrong DD was having a blast but I said something along the lines of 'urgh' they'll be all dirty & DH's aunt said 'oh don't be daft all the kids play it' (she has 6 GKids)

DH thinks I'm being precious but the thought of DD wriggling about in come (& other bodily fluid) stained bedsheets makes me shudder.

Is it just me?

There could be spunk, vomit, skidmarks or even shit. Nevermind threadworm eggs, blood, urine and fungus. And your MIL treats it like a playgroundEnvyConfused

R-a-n-k!!

grandmainmypocket · 01/01/2017 22:08

OmG that's disgusting. No 2 ways about it.

DailyMailDontStealMyThread · 01/01/2017 22:15

Really disgusting

ToffeeForEveryone · 01/01/2017 22:17

That is proper grim and your DH needs to give his head a wobble if he thinks that's okay!

Your poor DD! Ugh.

ConvincingLiar · 01/01/2017 22:27

Yuk. Wouldn't be bothered about immediate family's dirty laundry but I would be very bothered about strangers'.

Benedikte2 · 01/01/2017 22:28

No you can't allow this! Well meaning but gross

Olympiathequeen · 01/01/2017 22:33

Well if she's the one that washes them then she must be aware of the levels of contamination? If she regularly washed towels with vomit on them or shitty sheets I am sure she would not dream of putting DD in with them. In actuality this bedding is probably cleaner than yours as they are all changed daily and fwiw semen and sweat are very low level infection risk.

Nevertheless on a purely emotional gross factor basis YANBU

Thanks all, absolutely rotten isn't it!!! Obviously i knew i was right but had to prove to DH!! & not one person that has posted disagrees with me so I'm feeling validated, thank you!!
Luckily we hardly ever visit but DH's cousin's kids are there all the time, bork!!

Yes it is gross.

TheProblemOfSusan · 01/01/2017 23:12

Adding my two cents - yes, it's gross. Really disgusting. Handling strangers' bedding for work isn't, you wash your hands and move on, but allowing your daughter to root around in it is really grim of your MIL.

paddypants13 · 02/01/2017 12:45

You're right op, it's grim. Semen, menstrual blood, sweat and goodness knows what else. Ick.

Sandybum · 02/01/2017 12:58

Poo crumbs. In her hair.
