Would you find this gross or is it just me?

After DH & I have now talked about this for the 3rd time I'm appealing to you to tell me if IBU or you would find this minging too......

MIL & her sister own a commercial laundry business they launder towels, bedding etc for hotels, b&b's & holiday cottages etc.

I went to the laundry just before Christmas to drop off some cards etc & took 3 yo DD.

I went to the loo & when I came back MIL was pushing DD round in one of the big laundry carts on wheels full of dirty sheets. They were definitely dirty as having helped out in there before I know things only go in that cart before being washed. Next salute she has DD burrowing down in amongst the washing & playing peekaboo.

Don't get me wrong DD was having a blast but I said something along the lines of 'urgh' they'll be all dirty & DH's aunt said 'oh don't be daft all the kids play it' (she has 6 GKids)

DH thinks I'm being precious but the thought of DD wriggling about in come (& other bodily fluid) stained bedsheets makes me shudder.

Is it just me?

Although I can see that for a child it'd be a fun game, it doesn't sound a brilliant idea - especially if a child had cuts or a compromised immune system.

gross!

how is it over reacting there could be blood semen etc on those sheets how the hell does anyone think this is ok

laurenmarie88 · 01/01/2017 21:03

You don't know who or what's been on them sheets how can grown adults think that's ok ???? If I seen anyone doing that with my child I'd give them what for people go to hotels to have sex and do nasty things 😷 I'd say something

SarcasmMode · 01/01/2017 21:04

Members of households bedsheets? Sure.

Complete strangers? Grim.

I wouldn't want DS rolling in our laundry basket never mind in hotel used sheets. My friend was a chambermaid in a smart hotel and the stories she can tell about the state sheets were left in are disgusting. Given your MIL and her sister's standards, not sure I would want to stay in her house either if I was you.

QODRestYeMerryGentlemen · 01/01/2017 21:10

Wow a so far unanimous yanbu

LockedOutOfMN · 01/01/2017 21:11

I'm not a clean freak, but this makes me feel disgusted and like I have to shower and scrub myself from head to toe right away.

Please explain clearly to your mother-in-law and sister-in-law and children that this must not happen again as it is dangerously unhygienic.

triskellionoflegs · 01/01/2017 21:11

I wonder if she'd be as happy for you to put the dirty sheets over her head, and wrap them around her? I suspect she wouldn't like that because they're dirty...

MollyHopps · 01/01/2017 21:12

I'm really not fussed about germs at all but OH GEEZ that is vile [boak]

MollyHopps · 01/01/2017 21:14

You should get the sheets together and dump them on top of her. I doubt she would be so blaze then Hmm

Rachel0Greep · 01/01/2017 21:16

No, I wouldn't be letting that happen again, ugh!

Birthdaypartyangstiness · 01/01/2017 21:17

Absolutely foul.

3 year olds often have broken skin around their mouths. This would be a great way to turn that into impetigo. Also risky for norovirus.

I would be livid. Particularly if it continued after I pointed out the idiocy.

ILoveAGoodBrusselSprout · 01/01/2017 21:17

I can't see why any reasonable person would think this is ok. It's not!

RebelRogue · 01/01/2017 21:18

Ew ew ew! No. Just no. And I have no issues with dirt and germs and stuff.

ChasedByBees · 01/01/2017 21:25

Ew ew ew, so horrible! Just gross.

Pluto30 · 01/01/2017 21:28

Definitely gross.

My DH owns a retirement village (independent living, not high care) and the laundry there has to be handled with gloves. So, definitely disgusting to allow a child to go foraging around in it.

FurryLittleTwerp · 01/01/2017 21:31

Even worse IMO that's it's strangers' dirty stuff - bleeuuurghhh!

SecretWitch · 01/01/2017 21:39

I am a slattern but feel disgusted by this. People do weird things when staying in hotels...not to mention the poo crumbs!

YANBU

SusanTrinder · 01/01/2017 21:40

God, no.

Vile and unhygienic. Put a stop to that one asap! Impetigo is horrid, my DS was really poorly with it last year, and that was just from a kid at nursery, not spunky, dirty stranger sheets.

HarryPottersMagicWand · 01/01/2017 21:43

Boak. That is disgusting. I wouldn't be happy about that either. Ask your DH if he would be happy for some random kids to roll about in his jizzy sheets.

PickledCauliflower · 01/01/2017 21:57

Yuk

Ginmakesitallok · 01/01/2017 21:59

Gross.

LuluJakey1 · 01/01/2017 22:02

I don't mind DS getting in our bed- it is changed weekly and only DH and I use it. We are not exactly swingng from the chandeliers and if we had gone utterly mad I would have changed it but it isn't changed every time we have sex. Am I disgusting? Do people change their bed every time they have sex? ponders housekeeping standards as a measure of being a good mother

GimmeeMoore · 01/01/2017 22:04

I don't have enough laundry to change bed every time we have sex
