Had completely forgotten about shop so joined DD in bath ...so guess could have been worse! Was out and in PJs when arrived. Trust me, the delivery driver did NOT look impressed!!

I once answered the door to asda delivery in my pudsey onesie, he looked a bit Hmm but o well

Degustibusnonestdisputandem · 30/12/2016 21:01

Grin yeah I did the mad bin dash in my dressing gown last week when I'd forgotten to put the bin out totally normal...gavel

Hadenoughoftumble · 30/12/2016 21:02

EmmaGellerGreen

It's fine. There was a recent thread where most thought that there was nothing wrong in hosting a party in pjs!

I read through that particular thread and the vast majority of people responding thought it was outrageous that the couple had hosted guests in their pj's. They were referred to as revolting, slovenly and disgusting.

I've lost count of the amount of times I've answered the door to the postman in my pyjamas! I'm lucky that I have a very nice postman!

bettywhitearse · 30/12/2016 21:03

my postman has caught me many a time when I am about to take a shower and I'm literally in nothing but a towel.

CinderellaFant · 30/12/2016 21:05

DH was a delivery driver for a while...once he had a man answer the door stark naked!

OfaFrenchmind2 · 30/12/2016 21:05

I always open in my pjs. The challenge is to have two eyes open and be able to speak to them in english and not french this early in the morning.

LittleBearPad · 30/12/2016 21:05

Isn't that pretty standard for an Ocado delivery.

RhinestoneCowgirl · 30/12/2016 21:07

I always open in PJs. Our order usually comes between 6 and 7am before work and school run.

Today it came at 8:30am but I was still in PJs Xmas Blush

mummydawn07 · 30/12/2016 21:07

it I so good to see all the posts saying they wear pj's all the time at home if not going out, I too pretty much live in pj's if I am at home they are so comfy and warm so much better that jeans, I don't wear them to bed though Grin

MillyMoo1113 · 30/12/2016 21:10

Am regularly in my pjs when shopping comes. And drain firm men came to unblock drain at 8am the other day, I walked out to their van in my dressing gown to tell them the kettle was going on!

Tubbyinthehottub · 30/12/2016 21:12

Mine comes in a Saturday morning so I'm always in my pyjamas. They never look surprised. To be honest if I have an extra delivery mid week it's usually early evening and even then I'd likely be in my pyjamas. It's not like it's a sexy negligée or anything.

MrsGsnow18 · 30/12/2016 21:15

Whilst I try not to open the door whilst not fully dressed. My postman has a knack for only delivering large parcels when I'a just out of shower/still in bed. I always have a mad scramble and grab whatever I can to cover up which sadly means he never sees me with a bra on and most of the time with bird's nest hair. I hope he sees worse!

user1481572724 · 30/12/2016 21:15

Are you for real?! I don't think I've EVER answered the door to Ocado dressed! I do usually book night time deliveries though - but why would they care either way?

imip · 30/12/2016 21:16

Yes, I'm always in pj and dressing gown for my weekly Ocado delivery!

AwaywiththePixies27 · 30/12/2016 21:17

I opened the door to the Sainsburys deliverer driver with the Christmas shop in my PJ's in the middle of the day. I was in the middle of a very important phone call (one of those people who you have to wait to ring you back and they always ring back at the most inconvenient time) ; whilst simultaneously trying to stop young DS from running after him to see what else he had! Grin (first delivery - sure the novelty will wear off quickly). Sainsburys bloke never batted an eyelid but I did make the bloke on the phone chuckle with my failed attempts to multitask!

Also opened the door to the amazon delivery drivers on many a time. I thought it was the norm too. Confused

dollydaydream114 · 30/12/2016 21:17

Lots of people change into their PJs the moment they get home. I did so myself this evening.

I'm pretty sure your delivery driver didn't give a shit that you were in your PJs. If he looked pissed off, he was probably just grumpy because he was behind schedule or something. Anyone who regularly delivers stuff to people sees them dressed in a lot worse than their jim-jams, believe me.

WoopityBoopity2 · 30/12/2016 21:18

Mine turned up 20 minutes early the other day and I'd just stepped out of the shower, then had to wave frantically at him from a window as he was struggling to locate my house but didn't ring like they normally would. All this with a towel wrapped around my head and clutching my other towel around myself. Fortunately, the whole event seemed to tickle my driver. Not even the first time it's happened, it's like I'm some form of serial danger-bather.

I'm also a fan of giving feedback when the email to review my driver comes. Yours sounds like he'd had a bad day the grumpy sod.

PhilODox · 30/12/2016 21:19

Ocado deliver from very early until really late- I imagine they see a fair few customers in pjs!
Our drivers have always been utterly unflappable, so I can't see pjs flummoxing them.

PhilODox · 30/12/2016 21:20

Aw- dollydaydream - I haven't heard "jims jams" for years . Makes me feel about 6yo Smile

DJBaggySmalls · 30/12/2016 21:22

Your judgy pants delivery driver has never heard of shift work or night workers?
I bet he makes a fetish of getting up at 6am.

AwaywiththePixies27 · 30/12/2016 21:24

Agree dolly I've been in mine since about 1pm today but I'm feeling shit poorly anyway (weather set my asthma off). I'd been out and about since first thing this morning and I was just shattered cold and wet when I got home. I'm sure if I had any deliveries this afternoon one might have thought I'd been lazying about all day too.

Ohdearducks · 30/12/2016 21:29

They're just pyjamas he's probably got some of his own plus you're in your own house so you can wear what you like.
My bin men saw me in my bra and knicks once when my living room nets decided to fall down as I was retrieving my make up bag one morning. Grin

mumonashoestring · 30/12/2016 21:31

Pfft. I answered the door to the postman once with my left boob out - had been air-drying and lansinoh-ing my nipples so often having my boobs out stopped feeling weird. Until the cold Spring air hit me Grin He was a gent about it, thankfully.

pinkpanther6 · 30/12/2016 21:34

I answered the door to our shopping delivered very more than once with a baby attached to my boob feeding, drivers never bothered or even seemed to notice x

Doyouthinktheysaurus · 30/12/2016 21:34

I'm mostly in my Jammies for deliveries, worked nights for years so it came with the territory.

I was in my Jammies when the boiler man came to fix our boiler today, refused to have another strip wash with the promise of hot water oh so close. I cried when he left unable to fix it and reluctantly got dressed at that point, but he didn't appear to care. I certainly didn't!
