I am! I am a teacher so I am lucky to have two weeks off for Christmas.

I am very grateful to have had time with good family/friends and time with DS and DH.

However, I have to say that I am looking forward to returning to the normal routine on Tuesday! All the visiting and entertaining had been lovely but I do find it hard work - preparing then hosting then clearing up afterwards!

DH had taken DS out today and I'm set doing some school work in peace and I'm actually quite enjoying it!

Is anyone else looking forward to getting back to normal routine or am I weird ?

No. I'm nervous about starting new job.
Christmas is the only time when we are off work, yet not going abroad so we really relax.
My DD loves being away from school regime, my partner has a hideously stressful job and needed this break so much.
I'm dreading it all starting again.

Dd is. Missing her friends even though she's on Skype/Instagram every waking moment so Thursday can't come quick enough for her but ds doesn't want to go back bless him. He has till Monday though. Dh is back day after tomorrow but hasn't left the house for three days as he's been ill. He's not looking forward to it. I've worked throughout Christmas so makes no difference to me.

Thanks TeamAlphaFemale fortunately today was my last day on them, thank the Gods!!!

Awful things. Made me very ratty and short tempered Blush

I have awful depression and am dreading going back to work Sad feels so hopeless.

Waitingfordolly · 01/01/2017 21:00

No. I've actually had some time to myself and remembered I have some interests. Once we start back I will have pretty much no time for myself. I'd happily never go back if someone would pay me. I home educate DD so that's more work than being on holiday too.

Nooooo!

I don't want to go back to work, I will miss DS, I am dreading the phone calls and emails and, well, constantness of it.

We have stayed up late, stayed in bed till 11. DS has been allowed to stay in pjs if he wants. We have played.

I will miss him. Am genuinely tearful about going back to work!

Don't want to go back at all. Have no time at all to do anything. Would love to be off if I could afford it. So much I want to do of my own. Declutter, paint house, hobbies. To be fair In term time I do my hobby some weekends and take kids to theirs all the time. However there is no lounging time like in hols and just seeing where the day takes you. It's all clock watching. So over that

MummyMuppet2x2 · 02/01/2017 08:29

I'm self-employed so cannot earn anything whilst at home looking after the children. So in that regard in looking forward to term beginning and everything returning to normal. I've really loved our family time together, but definitely need to earn some cash now Smile

So ready to go back. DP copes better with work stress than "real life" stress. We've fought a bit too (both at fault) so being on top of each other after that hasn't helped either.

He's got a day off tomorrow whilst I go back in, so apart from the 6.35 wake up I can't wait to go back!

Lazyafternoon · 02/01/2017 18:21

Oh yes! I've put on about half a stone sitting about eating too much. I feel constantly tired and sluggish and not have a clue what day of the week/ time of day it is! I miss routine....
Tomorrow is back to 'normal'. DH back to work and DS back to pre-school. Time to take down the tree and get the house straight again. A week of catching up on housework, and for once I really don't mind!!!
.... Then next week I start a new job and a whole new 'normal' - eeeek!
