To have kicked the cat out on Xmas eve?

For the last two weeks she has been trying to kill the tree and wee on the presents under the tree.
I just want an upright tree and no bin bags under the tree.
Is this too much to ask?
The cat does have a safe place to sleep out of the weather.

Merry Xmas!

My cat comes in at night, because I don't want her to kill the roosting birds or sleeping creatures. I also like to know she's safe. (I like having cat cuddles in bed too...)

lottie My cats are house cats. I never understand why people have animals and then don't want to take care of them properly this is really judgemental! There's more
Than one way to look after an animal 'properly'. I actually think keeping cats as house cats is a bit cruel. It's not natural. They are supposed to have big territories.

My cat goes out but I keep him in at night. I think its safer for him, I think cats roam further under cover of dark and I worry he'll get run over.
I did keep him out of my bedroom as the presents were there, and he tried to eat the ribbons/decorations on them.

cardi my comment was directed towards the op kicking her cat out because it pissed her off Confused
My cats are housecats as we lost one after someone hit it and left it suffering.
I personally think that's crueler than making them house cats Confused

YANBU if the outdoor option is the less stressful option for your cat - if it's pissing on the tree, it's a stressed cat who is not enjoying your festivities.

YABVVVU if you don't take cat to the vet for a checkup - the pissing may be a result of cystitis caused by stress. You'd be a total arsehole if you didn't, as far as I'm concerned.
