To keep DS baby teeth

DH thinks I'm a psycho but throwing them away feels a bit wrong.

I'm with DH. I find it gross. What do you plan on doing with them? Just leaving them in a box Til you die and your son finds them, thinks 'err gross' /mans throws them out?

Because that's all that will happen

My mum kept mine and my siblings, we all thought it was gross and then she threw them out when we were teens!

I do get it now I have kids but you have to think what you'll do with them, the kids aren't likely to want them!

My mam has all of our baby teeth. They're in little boxes stuffed with cotton wool, one for each of us, along with our hospital bracelets. I always liked that. Seemed like they were quite precious to her, and who doesn't want to feel like that?

You should turn them into a precious bracelet and then present it to his wife on their wedding night. But make sure you let her know that you'll always be the first woman who wore his teeth as an adornment.

I don't think there's anything wrong with keeping a first tooth (pretty sure you can even get little pill box type things to keep them in) as a sort of sentimental reminder of them growing up but I certainly wouldn't keep all of them. I think that's a bit odd.

I keep a couple. I remember being fascinated by the 2 my mum kept. I did have a gruesome and fleeting idea of keeping them at and making a set with the glue gun...DH thought it was a bit weird

Anyone read Sharp Edges by Gillian Flynn? Might give you an idea of what to do with them.

That's the thing. I have no idea in my head that I'll sit gazing at them in affection in my old age. I certainly shan't be presenting them to him or anyone he chooses to marry. So I've no idea why I've kept them (tooth 6 came or today). But I can't bring myself to throw them away.

Oh possibly. Since they're literally the only thing my mother has actually kept (not exaggerating), I suppose that's why it's seems nice that they apparently mattered enough to put away. I suppose she hasn't glanced at any of them in 30 years, but she's constantly urging us to hold on to every scribble our kids do these days.

I kept the first tooth to fall out from both of my DC's. I found them recently and thought "aw look how tiny they are" and then put them away again.

But please don't keep a full set weird thoughts of milk tooth dentures

I remember finding a little box with my and my siblings' milk teeth in it. I found it a bit gross. I've binned all those of my kids.

I never kept any of the dcs teeth anyway but that book creeped the FUCK out of me

Our DS teeth are still in the envelopes he wrote to the tooth fairy in my special memory box

OP, a tale of caution...

When we were small we found teeth in my mum's jewellery box. We asked why she had our teeth instead of the tooth fairy, her response was they were the cats'! So next time I had a loose tooth, the teeth in the box were counted and I recounted after the tooth fairy visited. And such was the demise of the tooth fairy.

Hide those teeth well.

Don't they discolour over time? Show them to him when he's a teen and let him do the whole dramatic 'OMGTHATISSOGROSS' thing.

My mum kept ours for ages till my brother and I found them as teens and told her they were gross.
