AIBU to feel my Christmas tree is making my house look tacky?

Ok so usually I don't mind putting up the Christmas tree, normally do it on Christmas Eve as it really stresses me out and it's down on New Year's Day but this year due to DD not feeling great we've put it up a whole week early, I just feel like it's taken over my newly decorated room! To add to it I've just found out from someone else that family are coming round to ours (this particular person hasn't told me, I think it's meant to be a surprise) on Boxing Day. I just feel like with the tree my room looks really tacky and cluttered, I do have slight OCD alongside my anxiety but I just hate having a bloody huge tree in the room, I couldn't have a smaller one as DH and DC wanted a large one (I was outvoted) and to add insult to injury it's a snow tipped tree so there's white s*t everywhere!! I think I just needed a rant and maybe a "get in the Christmas spirit you grumpy b**h" lol Xmas Sad

Wow I'm loving the Christmas tree pics KingJoffreys I thought this pics were of Pinterest Shock. Guitargirl I think you're right but I really need to try and chill, I can't stand any kind of clutter it really bogs me down but someone sent me a pic (we were discussing this) and I nearly had a meltdown lol. I don't think the tree will be an issue then Xmas Grin

Of course it won't make your room look tacky. For goodness sake, no-one is going to be sneering because you have a Christmas tree, and won't think it makes the room look cluttered or untidy.

You can have the room how you want it for 50 weeks of the year. Having it exactly the same all year round would be boring and joyless, and your visitors are far more likely to judge you for that than for having a Christmas tree like, um, everyone else. It's for two weeks, suck it up, for the sake of your family.

This is mine from last year, it had 5 different stands of lights on it that all flashed differently and I attached a disco bulb to the back so there were lights going across the roof.
It was ace.

Not a real tree, was 23 pounds from tesco. I'd love a real one but ds has aspergers and would struggle with the pins dropping everywhere.

Thank you, tied them myself. Smile

Mine is tilting. Dh put it in a huge plant pot and surrounded its trunk with house bricks. But one has slipped now. You can only see that its tilting from outside, so its only a problem for passers by :-/
