Who should have gone to school?

ThisUsernameIsAvailable · 14/12/2016 09:32

The kids forgot to tell us about something they needed today, when oh took the kids to school the teacher said we could drop it off at 10:30.

I have fitness classes I do every week, one at 10 and one at 10:30.
Husband is walking the dog.

Who should be going over at 10:30 in your opinion?

Can your husband walk the dog to school?

harderandharder2breathe · 14/12/2016 09:36

Well depending on the age of the dc, and whether this is s regular thing, maybe neither of you

But yes DH should if anyone dies unless you're about to give a drip feed that he doesn't drive and would have to walk two hours in the rain or something

DramaInPyjamas · 14/12/2016 09:37

Sorry I meant to add that he should probably go, the dog can surely wait half an hour or so until he gets back if he can't take the dog to school with him.

Soubriquet · 14/12/2016 09:38

Honestly?

If the DC are old enough to remember and it isn't important, none of you.

If they are too young to remember or/and it is important, Dh should as he can walk the dog that way

Trifleorbust · 14/12/2016 09:38

Either of you? You could miss your class just once or he could walk the dog at a different time...

theelfmademedoit · 14/12/2016 09:39

The children are little, all 3 under 7

theelfmademedoit · 14/12/2016 09:40

Well. That was a name change fail wasn't it. GrinGrin

NickNacks · 14/12/2016 09:40

I don't understand why it has to be 1030? It's a school, they aren't going anywhere. What if you had to go to work and could only drop it off first thing?

Believeitornot · 14/12/2016 09:40

I'd get the DH to go.

Scooby20 · 14/12/2016 09:41

It really depends on what's planned for the day. Dh works, then walks the dog and then goes back to work. The dog wouldn't get a walk if he didn't do it at the time and she needs walking.

In your case it would be easier for me to miss my classes.

Depends on the rest of the day.

NiceFalafels · 14/12/2016 09:42

Oh can drop and walk

BertrandRussell · 14/12/2016 09:42

Whoever it's easiest for.

If your exercise class is anywhere near school, you drop it off before your 10.00 class. If it isn't, he drops it off before/during the dog walk.

littlemissneela · 14/12/2016 09:47

I would drop it off when it was convenient for me, and if that wasn't possible, my husband would do it.

golfbuggy · 14/12/2016 10:15

If it's not convenient for either of you, then don't do it. I can't think of a single thing (no doubt I'll instantly get zillions of replies telling me otherwise) that a child under 7 absolutely must have at school today.

Princesspinkgirl · 14/12/2016 10:22

Either of you to be honest

BertrandRussell · 14/12/2016 10:39

"can't think of a single thing (no doubt I'll instantly get zillions of replies telling me otherwise) that a child under 7 absolutely must have at school today."

Oh, I don't know. How about their costume if they are in a play? Their recorder if they are in a recorder group? Their wellies if they are going in a trip to the woods? Their party dress if they don't want to be the only one in uniform at the Christmas party? Something special they really want for "show and tell"? Swimming costume? I could go on...........

WhiskyTangoFoxtrot · 14/12/2016 10:43

Does it have to be 10:30?

I'm guessing a time was given to fit in with morning break, but perhaps the office could take it in earlier (but of course if the DC don't know to pick it up it might not reach them). But if you can drop off before your class I suggest you do it on the way to it. If it has to be during break, then DH could combine the drop off with the dog walk.

golfbuggy · 14/12/2016 10:56

Bertrand none of those are essential though. If it's something along those lines then they also won't be the only one that doesn't have it.

Like many parents I go straight to work after school starts. I would not be going home for anything on that list and making myself late. OP is in the very unusual position that both she and DH COULD go - but the world will not stop if they don't!

They are for the 7 year old concerned! And why do you assume they won't be the only one?

golfbuggy · 14/12/2016 11:39

I'm assuming they won't be the only one because I can't think of a single instance in which my DC have been asked to bring something into school and EVEYRONE BAR ONE PERSON has brought the thing in. And I've had the same experience as a Brownie leader.

I'm also assuming the 7 year old is not terribly bothered or the OP and her DH would be making more of an effort to get the item to them, rather than bickering over whose activity is more important

Ahickiefromkinickie · 14/12/2016 12:00

Can your husband walk the dog to school?

I bet OP is wishing she'd thought of this Grin

So simple.

Crankycunt · 14/12/2016 12:02

Husband. But how old are the kids?

user1470997562 · 14/12/2016 12:05

Mine usually forget musical instruments when they're doing an orchestra production.

So they've been practising something for weeks and will let the side down by not having the instrument.

I think if you have a car, either of you could drop it down. But neither has a pressing reason not to go. I'd err slightly on the dog walker in that it doesn't have to be done in a set timeframe.

Tissunnyupnorth · 14/12/2016 12:10

Kids are all under 7 years old.
