Jayda Fransen, deputy leader of Britain First to be on CBB in 2017

AIBU to hope we could have a polite and compassionate mums net discussion about whether it's OK to have some one like this on mainstream TV? If we can't have a polite and compassionate discussion on both sides, why would that be?

Fair point, but I am at least as horrified that anyone wants to watch it - like I am that anyone pays money for the Daily Heil.

Okay, what I meant about the Jade Goody thing was that when racist comments were made (and I agree that there was also a strong class element, and general schoolyard stuff as well) it was recognised as A Bad Thing.

Ten years later and they are putting a professional racist into the house as one of the alleged celebrities.

In (a sort of) answer to the OP's question, until recently, I would have thought it would be good to have someone like that on TV, to expose their nasty views to wider scrutiny. I now worry that it would actually recruit more people to their cause.

She has already been on tv. She struck me as someone angry at the world because of her past. Very few people are born with opinions she has. Hopefully if she's put in with a moderate Muslim and it will broaden her horizons. The Muslim programme on yesterday would be more appropriate she would have been able to meet a few of the moderate vast majority of muslims.

However if she thinks it will help spread a message she is far from right.

Big brother is now about arguments and fights. They put as many antagonistic people in as they can muster - in hope that it all kicks off.
I can think of nothing worse to watch on TV.

I used to go the same primary school as her (back then she was just called jade not jayda) she wasn't in my class as I'm
A few years older but she was in my sisters and they were very good friends.
She was a regular guest in our house as we were in hers. Her family were always lovely and her and her sibling were very popular at school. I would be interested to know what's happened in her life to make her the way she is now.

In answer to fb OP no I don't think she should be allowed on TV, views like hers don't need any more air time, that said I will be watching as I'm a nosy fucker and want to see what she's like now without all her BF cronies around.

I think it is another example of the "normalisation" of fascism today. The rise of utter cunts like LePen and the alt right (no alt about it, they are dyed in the wool nazis) just shows this. They have gone from of derision and detestation to acceptably electable. Deny them the oxygen of publicity. Hopefully no one watch this pile of shite.

I agree she is a complete cunt, however I have seen her on tv and she didn't strike me as too clever. I'm a firm believer in giving people like her enough rope to hang themselves. Remember Nick Griffin on question time? Nobody made nick look as bad as nick did himself

It's become a CBB tradition that they bring in a nasty racist, a few days in the a shocking tweet gets dug up and they are kicked out sharpish like it's a big fucking shock. Either that or she'll fly under the radar for 2 weeks, get touted as someone who "talks sense" and then comes out to cheers. In which case we are all fucked, Sad
