A mother at my international school is constantly mimicking my accent and mocking things I say and calling me posh. I can take that but recently at a party she said to my DH whilst having a fag outside with him 'I'm great at wanking' Having confronted her after she said something else that really pissed me off she claims it was a 'joke' and she didn't mean it. She said she always ' jokes'about peoples accents. She said that she didn't realize English people were so different to Australians??? Do you buy it??? Still fuming.

listsandbudgets · 11/12/2016 17:58

LOL auto correct correct clearly won't allow me anything so rude!!

Castleheights · 11/12/2016 18:17

Omg this has been a funny read.
"I'm great a wanking.... " how funny.
I'd be tempted to tell her straight, you don't time to give a fuck, so jog on kitty. wanker

MidniteScribbler · 11/12/2016 21:32

I'm an Aussie and have never uttered that phrase in my life.

People can be dicks, no matter where they come from. I've met plenty of obnoxious Brits, but don't tar the whole country because of it.

StrangeLookingParasite · 11/12/2016 22:26

You won't even get an argument from me on this; I left the country and have no intention of ever going back.

DailyFail1 · 11/12/2016 22:31

Australia isn't that different a culture. She's definitely a crude little git. Call her out on it. That's never an appropriate thing to say to someone else's husband

TheStoic · 11/12/2016 23:13

Oh for goodness sake. Did you really think all that behaviour could have just been because she is Australian?

Hyperhelpmum · 12/12/2016 00:06

Stoic, nah, just wanted to share the story and increduality.

That was a bit of a drip feed OP. She just comes across as very insecure and in need of your approval now that you have given the full context. Give her a wide berth.

TheMaddHugger · 12/12/2016 07:13

I am Australian, She is Nasty

Do you have to associate with her? She sounds rough as hell.

JustSpeakSense · 12/12/2016 11:34

Is there any way you can stop spending time with her? I wouldn't have anything to do with someone like this.

MizzEmma · 12/12/2016 18:32

Why are you spending so much time with her?

She sounds dreadful, I'd be giving her a very wide berth.

How old is your DS? Her comments about him sound well over the line of social acceptability.
