Posted for traffic.

Seen Elf, Muppet Christmas Carol and Miracle on 34th Street. Two boys aged 9 and 4.

Struggling for ideas...

Nightmare before Christmas. 2nd best Xmas film ever. Muppets being first and Elf third.

PaulAnkaTheDog · 10/12/2016 14:44

National Lampoon's Christmas vacation. Not everyone's cup of tea though.

Muppetslikecoco · 10/12/2016 14:47

TheTantrum do you mean Tim Allen? I don't think he is dead?

MiddleClassProblem · 10/12/2016 14:51

I think tantrum means the 80s one

MiddleClassProblem · 10/12/2016 14:55

DD is nearly 2 so prob no gage of anything your 4 year old could handle but she liked the grinch because there's a dog in it... so if you have kids that like dogs then go for it. I think she gets it from me. I think watching Independence Day I was mostly concerned for the dog!

ShowMePotatoSalad · 10/12/2016 14:58

Home Alone 1 and 2, definitely.

I used to love watching While You Were Sleeping with my mum, probably from the age of about 10 upwards.

Ratonastick · 10/12/2016 15:00

The Snowman? I'm afraid we alternate between The Snowman and The Muppets (on our second watch of both already and this isn't the end of it!!) so don't have any other suggestions.

LadyVampire · 10/12/2016 15:05

Home Alone, The Grinch, Jingle All the Way, Muppets Christmas Carol, Small One, Olive the Other Reindeer

iloveredwine · 10/12/2016 15:14

Nativity or home alone for us but we watched buddy the elf musical and my dd loved it. Only about hour but voiced by sheldon from Big Bang

Jellybean83 · 10/12/2016 15:36

scottishdiem are you me? Definitely my top three and in the same order! Grin

cavatron · 10/12/2016 15:58

You bunch of utter legends. Thank you so much - these suggestions will keep us occupied over the weekend (housebound due to DS 4 being poorly)! About to watch Home Alone for the first time this year then will make our way through the others :)

Also, mitzee - watched the greatest store...last weekend. Adored it as a kid and now my kids adore it too. Random S Club 7 appearance made me laugh - I used to think that was the coolest thing EVER! 😂 It's a beautiful film.

Die Hard for two boys aged 9 and 4?

BratFarrarsPony · 10/12/2016 16:19

The Greatest Store in the World, definitely!

Autumnchill · 10/12/2016 16:29

Another vote for National Lampoon! It's an tradition in our house to watch this when doing the tree

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 10/12/2016 16:34

I'm not sure very young children would like It's A Wonderful Life but I first saw it before I was in my teens (I think) and it's been my top Christmas film ever since. Watch it most years at some point, always cry (usually several times), never tire of it.

Love Actually is great, but again not that likely to appeal to the very young. Might watch that while I write Christmas cards this year.

AndNoneForGretchenWieners · 10/12/2016 16:38

Nativity!
Jack Frost
Mickey's Once Upon A Christmas

Jellymuffin · 10/12/2016 16:41

How has nobody mentioned jingle all the way!? It's brilliant and works on so many levels!

tactum · 10/12/2016 16:44

Arthur Christmas is THE best Christmas film ever. End of.

We always watch it on Christmas eve - am having to restrain myself from watchutit before then

Hulababy · 10/12/2016 16:48

I (and rest if the y2 team) am taking 90 6/7 year olds to be cinema to watch Arthur Christmas next week. Not seen it but it was recommended as a good U rated Christmas film. Fingers crossed.

oklumberjack · 10/12/2016 17:02

Nativity! That's a go-to favourite in our house. You have to be in a very silly/Christmas mood though.

Frazzled2207 · 10/12/2016 17:06

Arthur christmas. New discovery last weekend.

ForkYou · 11/12/2016 13:08

Prep and Landing is my all time favourite animated one.

alfagirl73 · 11/12/2016 13:52

Nativity (watched it yesterday - had forgotten how fab it is!)
Home Alone 1 and 2
Wizard of Oz - not technically Xmas but having always watched it at Xmas I associate it with this time of year and won't watch it any other time! LOL! x

IJustLostTheGame · 11/12/2016 13:58

My favourite is santa Claus the movie
