Im sorry i just need advice, I know not an AIBU, but need the traffics. Only have DC at home, so if you can read thank you. So last night my wrist started to swell, i know nothing mager, but woken up today it was a bit hot couldn't really move it, throught the day its swollen move, it agony even on painkillers, and its quite hot. I realise i might need to get it checked but unless its really necessary i really don't want to, I am just (kind of) recovering from quite bad MH issues and for a good few months presented at A&E about 50 times for stitches, suicide attempts and some fairly odd SH and SA that involved surgery. So when ether i go with something truly physical to hospital/GP they often think ive done it myself. And it so feels they don't want to treat me and don't care. So it terrifies me especially as ive also sometimes been in A&E with the police and stuff. Its awful. Im trying to stay on the straight and narrow and stay strong for my amazing DCs. I guess its more being woried of medical professional but i also dont want to detriment my physical problems as well. Im at a loss.
Thanks for taking the time to read.

CurlsLDN · 08/12/2016 17:53

So glad you went back to the gp, well done, I understand why it's difficult for you.
What did they say?

beggingbehind · 08/12/2016 22:11

Basically it has spread a lot, and I have a temp of 39 He's was thinking hospital but after a while we settled on a different really strong anti b. (Which can make you very tired and have d&V. Great) and if my temp goes over 40 or start throwing up I need to go straight hospital. And he's gonna ring tommorow lunch time after I've had two lots of the anti bs if it's spread at all I'll need to hospitial. Unfortunately it's already spread to my wrist so not looking hopeful. Thanks all for being here for me it's really helped

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 08/12/2016 22:26

So as it's already spread you need to go to the hospital now, do as the doctor advised Flowers

Thinkingblonde · 08/12/2016 22:36

If is cellulitis it is important that you take this seriously. The skin is the biggest organ in the human body and if it gets infected it can really take hold and overwhelm you.
My neighbour had it on his knee, he needed hospitalisation with intravenous antibiotics, when he was discharged he needed daily injections of a/b's for three weeks.

beggingbehind · 08/12/2016 22:40

He said he'd check for spreading tommorow I only need to go to hospitial if I have a temp over 40 or start vomiting. As the anti bs he's given me need two doses to start working I've had one

Thinkingblonde · 08/12/2016 23:45

I am relieved that you're receiving treatment. Look out for shivering and feeling cold but skin hot to the touch, vomiting, or flu like symptoms. Hope you feel better soon. f

RockNRollNerd · 09/12/2016 09:59

Glad you got seen again. Sounds very much like when I had it, it took the third type of anti-b's for me to start getting better but when they kicked in the improvement was obvious pretty quickly. Stay strong and please do go back/to hospital if it is getting worse.

MrsKCastle · 09/12/2016 18:06

How are you doing beggingbehind? Did you have to go back in today?

beggingbehind · 09/12/2016 20:12

Rang GP who wanted to see me. Went in and after a chat. Said hospital treatment t it would have to be. I talked through my worries. Am now sitting on emergency surgical assement unit. But there so busy have been here 5 hours haven't seen anyone. Apprently there's very few beds in whole hospital

helpimitchy · 09/12/2016 21:11

Fingers crossed they'll assess you soon. You might need iv antibiotics.

Verticalvenetianblinds · 09/12/2016 21:11

JorahsMissus · 09/12/2016 21:17

Glad you've gone to A&E now, hopefully you get seen to quickly and off home again.

ZigZagIntoTheBlue · 09/12/2016 21:24

Good luck Flowers

beggingbehind · 09/12/2016 22:05

Well that was awful. They were SO busy. Took 5 hours to be seen with no observations or painkiller. Then got seen by doctor who wanted me to go through what happened and she obversely asked 'those' questions which I knew where going to happen. The Walkes in a Doctor I have met a couple times befor he walks in and says 'um yes we know each other well' and goes on to say 'so what have you done to yourself this time' (well it was slightly different but if I wrote exactly what he said it would say what I've done before) the first doctor goes on to explain what's happening he says 'why are we having to do this to you again.' Then to take the bloody biscuit he says quite loudly why I've needed surgery befor, exactly what I've done in the past. It was not relevant. I started to cry. He then says 'oh stop it' they were then both pretty set that I'd done this myself. It was an awful experience. The first doctor did say he'd had a bad day. I refused treatment but the slightly nicer Doctor tried to convince me to stay. She said stuff like 'do you really want to loose your arm' 'we don't care what it is' 'we see this stuff often' she said I could com back tommorow or th day after or in the couple days after that, she'd keep me on the list. He made me feel I didn't deserve treatment I wasn't worth it. And that's why I walked out. And I deffintly don't want to go back. I'm not worth it

Oh love, it sounds terrible for you. Big hugs.

Can you phone someone like a crisis team? Not sure if you had details from earlier. I know you've not hurt yourself but if you continue to avoid treatment I'm afraid you will be hurting yourself.

Your doctor sounds fucking awful. I wouldn't normally advocate using your children but could you possibly take one with you at a reasonable hour if you have no one else to go with you? They wouldn't dream to say such revolting things in front of you child. You could go with your partner and put headphones on your kids and your partner could be an advocate. Or at least get someone maybe from crisis team to phone through before and explain you need to be treated from afresh.

HopelesslydevotedtoGu · 09/12/2016 22:26

You do deserve treatment
Please go back
This is not going to get better by itself
You will only end up back there anyway in a week in a worse state
The rude doctor spoke appallingly to you
Please don't get really sick due to him
I know that when I'm really ill I don't think clearly and make poor decisions
Please listen to the dozens of people on this thread who will encourage you to go back

SarahJinx · 09/12/2016 22:30

Please go back begging. Nothing is worth losing your arm over. You are certainly worth I sweetheart and even if you think you aren't, think about those dc who need their mum. Whatever it takes go back, do you have someone you could take with you?

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 09/12/2016 22:46

How could you make your arm swell? Do they think you can magic swelling out if nowhere?Confused

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 09/12/2016 22:46

**of

JCo24 · 09/12/2016 22:53

Make a complaint, that is bang out of order. How dare the doctor belittle you!! Go back and get treatment and stick two fingers up. (Also request another doctor)

beggingbehind · 10/12/2016 00:45

I think I'm going to re a valueuat tommorow. I was to upset and distraught to stay tonight and first doctor said I'll write your notes up so you don't have to talk to anyone (good, but then) we don't mind what you've done self harm or suicide attempt. That makes me confident to go back. I'd feel I was being looked down on. If I do go over weekend DH can come with me

OP posts:
beggingbehind · 10/12/2016 00:49

Well dame. I'd done something before that caused my whole arm to blow up. And I required 3 surgeries. (I won't go into it to much though.) that's why the doctors always think I've done it myself. And I've had Cellulitus that's required IV anti bs and surgery through self harm. But I presented differently today and it was nothing like when I'd done something I wish people would just believe me.
