Our router has been affected by the outage virus. DH has dug the old one out so we only have intermittent internet.

We couldnt even get through to these idiots on the phone. ppl are being told to comment online. How the fuck can they when they have had no internet for 12 hours plus.

Customers arent even being given any idea how long this mess is going to take to sort.

To add insult to injury they are trying to charge customers for new routers because of this.

UTTER UTTER CUNTS!

We're with Talk Talk too. Thank goodness the contract (home phone, broadband, TV, & 2 mobiles, around £90 per month) is up by February. Nothing on earth would induce me to stay with them. They have leaked my account details when they were hacked, showed no interest when I reported it & requested assistance in regaining access to my account as someone had changed the password (15 months & counting), & will not answer the bloody phone. On the couple of occasions I've hung on (for what felt like hours) & got through, they were not fabulously helpful, they insist on doing those pointless router tests that prove nothing, & then say that as they can find no system fault, there obviously isn't one... & failed to ring back as they promised. Bastards.

Some years ago, back when they were building out, had two twats (male and female) ring my door bell, introduce themselves "talk talk, you must know it, we advertise on Big Brother". I said no, not interested. She asked for a glass of water. By the time I came back from the kitchen, they had come into the house, taken their shoes off, sat on the living room sofa and holding out a pen for me to sign a contract. Refused to leave until I was dialing the police.
I put in a complaint with the OFT after but they said there was nothing they could do.

The can be a real benefit Pita. We had endless issues with them this year and every time we called it seemed that nothing was being logged about the problem and we had to start from scratch all over again. It was the most frustrating experience. Kafkaesque etc.

BUT : they are really good at giving compensations and refunds. We have now had free Internet and landline for 6 months as an apology.

Bear way to get the refund is to ask to be put through to the disconnection department. They are the ones who have the power!

Good luck. I know it can feel like it's taking over your life.

I laugh out loud at the poor Talk talk promotion people in our shopping centre when they approach me.

After our hellos time with the fuckers it gives me great pleasure to shout out loud to them " you couldn't pay me to come back to you. Never ever again".
I think I've helped out a few people who were just looking interested.
A few times I've been cheered by I'm guessing other fucked over customers of Talk Talk.
If you've not already been ducked in by these fuckers just run for the hills! They are seriously bad new's.

Yep We have had all this tenfold and to top it off we were asked on Sunday if we had physically damaged the router ourselves!

Well, I've started digging my escape tunnel.

Cancellation letter (recorded delivery) to
Customer Relations Department
TalkTalk Group
PO Box 346
Southampton
SO30 2PW

New broadband requested from alternative provider (who, incidentally, turn out to be cheaper than TalkTalk).

I will let everyone know whether I make it out of Stalag Luft TalkTalk successfully, or whether I find myself in one of the inner circles of hell (ooh, I do love a mixed metaphor in the morning).

GiddyOnZackHunt · 07/12/2016 10:00

I say. Best of British old chap.

M0stlyHet · 07/12/2016 11:31

I may have been watching too much "Movies for Men", Giddy - or "Movies for Mummies" as 8yo DS has re-named it (because, hell, middle aged mummies need mindless escapism with big bangs and guns too...)

M0stlyHet · 07/12/2016 14:33

BBC latest on the on-going cock-up that is TalkTalk's response!

fightingback · 07/12/2016 14:41

I only managed to get back online about an hour ago, having had problems on and off all day.

Has anyone managed to get out of a talk talk contract without paying penalties?

I'm definitely paying for a service we're not getting.

"making good progress"

"you can call us"

What a crock of shit.

Might be offline for a while. Am switching to BT Infinity tonight and everything should go smoothly but you can never be 100% sure.
