Plastic cheese in an omelette

OohhItsNotHoxton · 30/11/2016 14:43

It's the only cheese in the house. AIBU?
I would like to add the cheese was purchased by someone else and I forgot to buy naice cheese when I went shopping earlier.

Plastic cheese is foul.

Unless it's on a burger and then it's bloody marvellous.

RavioliOnToast · 30/11/2016 16:12

I hate omelettes but I'm salivating at the thought of this, I am STARVING! Have it whichever way you'd like. Grin

OohhItsNotHoxton · 30/11/2016 16:20

I WOULD NEVER PUT AN OMELETTE ON TOAST.

It would indeed be an abomination. However two slices of toasted seedy bread with butter on the side are, I feel, an acceptable accompaniment.
I can't have fried eggs and chips. That would require either sausages or beans. Of which I have neither.

Omelette needs mayonnaise, tomato sauce is totally wrong.

hellsbellsmelons · 30/11/2016 16:34

Spaghetti hoops????
Plastic cheese in an omlette is deeeelish!!!
Enjoy, and definitely have chips!

80sWaistcoat · 30/11/2016 16:38

DId someone say beans with an omellete was good? No - too same texture. You need chips to add texture or toast if its morning.

OohhItsNotHoxton · 30/11/2016 16:39

I have spaghetti hoops!
However the tin is dented and from a pound shop. So naturally I'm a tad wary.

I'm missing something. What does a dented tin mean?! Grin

BuntyFiggleswothSpiffington · 30/11/2016 16:44

'may contain biohazard'?

BorpBorpBorp · 30/11/2016 17:05

Botulism risk. Seriously OP, just have egg and chips. Or if you don't want to, cook egg and chips for me. I could go for egg and chips.

OohhItsNotHoxton · 30/11/2016 17:25

OK. ...
So BorpBorpBorp you are invited for tea if you can bring beans, sausages. Or boiled ham/gammon.

Actually the ham/gammon option would solve the debate.

BusterGonad · 30/11/2016 17:28

OP I hope you got a discount for that dented tin?

OohhItsNotHoxton · 30/11/2016 17:36

Buster unfortunately no. It was part of a three pack wrapped in plastic. The spaghetti was between two undented beans. A Cross and Blackwell multisaver. The dent wasn't apparent until I split the package. The spaghetti has sat at the back of my cupboard since opening. I mean what exactly do you do with a dented tin. It's no good for harvest festival (poisoning people) or food bank (poisoning people).
I'm single so can't even feed it to a DP that's crossed the line in some way.

I never eat plastic cheese. I sometime have omelette with toast or potato waffles but I've not had it with chips, must try that.

I tell a lie, I sometimes have a chip omelette if I have leftover chips

I sometimes have scrambled eggs on toast in the evening but I usually have my main meal at lunchtime.

NoCapes · 30/11/2016 17:42

You sound delightfully nuts OP Grin

BusterGonad · 30/11/2016 17:42

The pound shop saw you coming OP!

WindInThePussyWillows · 30/11/2016 17:45

OP you seem a little off your trolley, in the best possible way. In RL I imagine we would get on very well. I have a cupboard full of beans.

TobleroneBoo · 30/11/2016 17:50

I went through about a 2 month run of having it in my omelette a - was lovely!

OohhItsNotHoxton · 30/11/2016 17:51

WAIT....A chip omelette?
There would absolutely have to be beans with such a thing, surely.
WindIn where are you? Anywhere near East London?

OP posts:
OohhItsNotHoxton · 30/11/2016 17:52

Toblerone what is it?

BusterGonad · 30/11/2016 17:57

My dad whacks anything in a omelette, and his no1 tip is to put the pan under a grill so you don't have to worry about flipping it. Have you thought about adding tuna or corned beef?

BarbaraofSeville · 30/11/2016 17:59

A chip omelette is just a shortcut to a Spanish tortilla without all that tiresome peeling, slicing and frying of potatoes. If you have some leftover chips, just warm them up and encase them in an omelette.

I've also made a crisp omelette, inspired by Ferran Adrià, who ran what was known as the best restaurant in the world. It was one of the favourite meals made by his chefs for everyone for lunch before starting work.

BusterGonad · 30/11/2016 18:02

Tinned new potato omelette!

FancyPantsDelacroixTheFirst · 30/11/2016 18:08

Do a chess toasty in the frying pan and plonk a fried/poached egg on top. Plastic cheese is made for toasties.
