Do I put my cat at risk or is DH a worry wart.

DH has just had a go at me.

Every few weeks I make the cat aged 1 year 5 months scrabbled egg. It's a little treat normally as I know cat food is better for her.

DH thinks I have put her at risk because cats shouldn't eat eggs.

Aibu to feed cute little cat eggs.

On the subject we are going on holiday soon, what is the best way to find a cat hotel.

Can you get a house sitter? I hated putting animals into boarding.

EveOnline2016 · 29/11/2016 21:45

Cat knows when her time is as I bake cakes and because I only buy eggs from my local farm shop, they are huge so only need 1.5 eggs, so cat has the rest.

I could ask my NDN. Her granddaughter adores her.

I have a cat sitter - she comes twice a day - does food, littler, opens and closes curtains, feeds the small rodents and fish - she's great

much nicer than a cattery

BumDNC · 29/11/2016 21:47

My cat likes to live in wheely bins. She is totally fine! (Can't seem to stop it). Egg is fine! Cats can eat a hell of a lot of stuff and if they don't like it they will just vomit

KittensWithChristmasHatsOn · 29/11/2016 21:50

Def get a neighbour or friend if possible.

Much nicer for the cat and cheaper for you

eurochick · 29/11/2016 21:52

I thought of Mog too!

Crispbutty · 29/11/2016 21:53

Added benefit of a house sitter or neighbour is that nobody else need know you have gone away.

I'm always a bit paranoid and would worry about burglars if the house was known to be empty.

MothertotheLordsofmisrule · 29/11/2016 21:54

My parents had a cat that would mug you for cucumber or melon.

I had rats that would climb you for some tea, I solved it by making 2 cups - one for me and the other for the vermin to perch on.

TroysMammy · 29/11/2016 21:55

He is BU. Whenever I used a beaten egg for pastry I would give the unused egg to the cat. He loved it. It's fine as a treat.

TroysMammy · 29/11/2016 21:56

He also enjoyed a bit of sponge cake too.

I always gave your cats eggs. Two lived to 18 and the third to 22. The present ones are mere striplings of 4 years, but they enjoy an occasional egg, too.

EveOnline2016 · 29/11/2016 21:59

I don't add nothing but a little dash of cats milk

2kids2dogsnosense · 29/11/2016 22:00

*our cats - not your cats.

I've never met your cats, obviously.

You definitely don't want a cat on top of your cake.

TinselTwins · 29/11/2016 22:02

Lots of people put milk and salt in scrambled eggs, that's probably why. Just egg scrambled egg is probably fine

Sugarlightly · 29/11/2016 22:02

I think it kinda depends on whether you load up the scrambled eggs with cream/milk/butter - even then I don't think an occasional treat is too bad, but would understand why someone might be a bit Hmm. As for plain eggs - what on earth would be wrong with that???

Roast potatoes
batter pudding
runner beans
egg shells
kipper skin
cats eat anything
and are immune to salmonella

OP
Get a neighbour to come in twice a day and feed and fuss the cat - I'm doing exactly that for my neighbour at the moment
and when I'm away she does it for me

doner kebab
three day old burger
lettuce with chicken mayo on-
half a mouse
2/3 of a wood pigeon

FFS eggs are the least of your worries Grin

MothertotheLordsofmisrule · 29/11/2016 22:06

Dixie I think I feel slightly ill now.

Slug eating cats.

Boak.

InsultingTheAlligator · 29/11/2016 22:13

I have a 2 year old cat who goes crazy for cooked broccoli. She also ate leftover fish pie with boiled eggs and mashed potato in it for her afternoon snack today. (It had been forgotten for days and was most definitely not fit for humans).

My 12 year old cat is partial to quavers and wotsits.
