I am fair haired and have downy hair on my face which is getting worse, allergic to hair removal cream and unsure about waxing. Have visited a dermatologist for laser but told it doesn't work on fair hair! Has anyone bought a 'No No' device? Not sure how it works but adverts are very enticing. Grateful for any help....

Have ordered my tweezy, 86p and free postage! Bargain! Can I just recommend never using an electrical epilator for a stubborn and probably too short chin hair. I scoured off a layer of skin leaving an inch square raw area weeping for days and still getting get the sodding bristle

R2G · 27/11/2016 17:33

Shave face with Venus oil of Olay razors. No need for shaving cream etc they are pre loaded and moisturising. Have one in bag also for work. Also use on underarms and what's left of bikini (had laser)

PandoraHadABox · 27/11/2016 18:41

Love the thought of the ease of shaving, but what about kissing? Even one of my friends appeared to jump when exchanging cheek kisses, pretty sure it was that and not the waft of garlic from lunch....are you sure it doesn't grow back itchy and stubbly?

Ive used a razor on my face before, downy pale hair won't be stubbly.

YellowBlueBus · 27/11/2016 18:51

Pandora

In Japan, it's common practice for women to shave their faces.

I've never noted stubble on a Japanese woman.

ChardonnayKnickertonSmythe · 27/11/2016 18:55

I take my glasses off.
Makes the problem go away at once.

Fockers · 27/11/2016 18:56

No but it takes literally seconds so you could do it every day if you wanted Shock once a week is fine for me, hair feels soft coming through not sure why? Except the bastard thick chin ones

MeadowHay · 27/11/2016 19:01

I get my whole face and eyebrows threaded about once a month to keep me sane. In between/when needed I tweeze stray hairs on my neck, chin, eyebrows, and sometimes epilate my upper lip. I hate being so hairy but for me it's genetic I guess as my dad is very hairy and his sister is very hairy too, sigh.

MulberryBush12 · 27/11/2016 19:07

Mine doesn't grow back itchy & stubbly; my skin & new hair feel soft 😀
Have tried every other facial hair-removal method going! I was a bit worried before I did it first time - but it's fine ! Just use shaving gel or the Venus of Olay razor like pp says.
I think there is a special face razor thing, if you want to go fancy. ? Lilybeth of New York £7 ish Amazon

MrsBB1982 · 27/11/2016 19:10

Thank goodness it's not just me. I'm only in my 30's and I find I spend so long tweezing my chin and lip my eyebrows aren't getting a look in. Problem is the bastards are breeding now and I'm in danger of getting a beard to rival my husband

Tarrarra · 27/11/2016 19:11

I use the no no on mine. It's fab. Mine is very fair and downy but it works just fine.

joangray38 · 27/11/2016 19:16

The colonel - I use the Philips lumea comfort - the mini one on facial hair. My hair is fair and it does work - I have it waxed, or have electrolysis and then whiz the lumea over once a week . I can now go several months without needing to remove Ny hair and in some places it no longer grows back. I got mine via eBay for around £70

SisterMoonshine · 27/11/2016 20:14

I use the smooth skin mitt things (like sand paper)

NorksAreMessy · 27/11/2016 21:00

Aha! A whole new gang of springy-thingy fans :)
Good luck my friends and may your face be smooth and peach like for ever and ever more

JellyBelli · 27/11/2016 21:03

I bought that spring shaped epilator posted by NorksAreMessy and fucking hell, its a torture device.
Waxing is less painful and you can get ready to use facial waxing strips in the pound shops.

DragonNoodleCake · 27/11/2016 21:09

I'm off to google the springy thing now!! Thanks for this thread!!

JenniferYellowHat1980 · 27/11/2016 21:23

What about it hair removal from a mole? Blush

2kids2dogsnosense · 27/11/2016 22:10

Jennifer Just snip it close to the skin - NEVER pluck or epilate a mole, and don't use any chemical on it.

Davros · 27/11/2016 22:51

DD has got a little Veet machine from Superdrug, seems to be quite good

auldfuckingspinster · 27/11/2016 23:54

I shave. Epilator works but hurts like buggery, Immac and waxing gives me a rash and bleaching turns it ginger. Either use a trimmer or mach 3.

Omg well I have to say I ordered the spring thing, it came yesterday and for the first time in 4 years my chin and lip is stubble free! I took to shaving 4 years ago as I so embarrassed at the amount of hair Blush well, managed to remove half of it 24 hours after shaving and removed the other half tonight. I'm so happy I could cry. Thank you MN, you rock Star

NorksAreMessy · 01/12/2016 07:27

Ahaha!
Good morning fresh-faced Fruit, so glad I could help :)

FlappysMammyAndPopeInExile · 01/12/2016 16:40

My spring thing came today - sod's law as I have just waxed (I had no choice, people thought I was Stalin).

However despite have waxed yesterday, I still manage (judging from the pain) to hick out a few more fine little hairs.

I'm wondering though if it will end up with millions of tiny bristles trapped in the coils Grin
