My ds is 17 months old and for his xmas ive got him a 3 in 1 playset thats a pop up house with tunnel and ball pit with balls that i ordered off amazon, a sleeping bag with sleeves, a pair of wellies, and some new jammies and a big book of nursery rhymes and stories.
My sister seems to think this isnt enough and that i should be getting him more as what im getting him is boring as he wont like it?! He loves the ball pit at the soft play and would be in his glory with his own one at home
I had applied for a budgeting loan from the job centre as my cooker has gave up but im U according to her to buy a cooker and not get ds more presents.
Aibu to tell her to piss off and leave me to it?

Your sister world be appalled with me. My 2 year old is getting (for the third Christmas running) her older brothers old toys (still in good nick and carefully stored). I do get a few new stocking bits- costume jewellery, hair clips, bubble bath etc.
We can afford to buy new stuff but it would seem a waste when she will love the old things just as much. IME when they are little they open one thing, and want to play with it for ages a while before opening the next one. My son once took until 29 December to open all his presents. No need to make that mistake again.

What you've got sounds perfect! He's going to have a brilliant time, ignore what your sister says.

He's baby, he'll be happy to rip paper off things and play with the boxes.
We had a very broke year when oldest Ds was 4, he got some very inexpensive toys, matchbox cars etc and some character undies with Superman on or something. He was so excited for the undies more than anything. We even had a charlie brown christmas tree, it was so sad looking. But made up for it all with having Ds help me bake and decorate cookies for Father Christmas and put out a carrot for the raindeer. Memories are what matter for Christmas.

It sounds lovely. You could always make something if you feel like it - I made DD1 some shakers when she was that age, just a handful of rice and pasta in plastic drink bottles.

Crikey I've got my twins the pop up tent/tunnel/pit/balls thingy and a bean bag chair and that's it! They won't know what it's all about! 😁. And I'm sure grandparents will spoil them etc
