Much easier on the arm than brush and dryer. I'm on my second Grin

ElspethFlashman · 18/11/2016 19:23

I have fine hair and love mine.

I agree that you have to quickly blast your hair 80% dry first.

But then the BBH gives a lovely blow dry effect.

It does get tangled if you press the wrong button but all you have to do is press the right one and it untangles itself again so no harm done. There's only two buttons so it's v easy to get the hang of.

Wish I bought the smaller one though now I've chopped my hair short. The standard one is really only needed for long hair.

FaithAscending · 18/11/2016 19:26

I love mine. Had it a couple of years. I rough dry it and then finish with the BBH. I rarely need to straighten my hair now so it's in better condition. I'm really glad I bought one.

SinglePringle · 18/11/2016 19:26

Dissenter here... I get a much bouncier, glossier finish on my armpit length very thick / frizzy if left to dry alone hair.

The Big Hair makes my hair flyaway and makes the layers kick out in a '90's style.

I never use it.

PeachMelba78 · 18/11/2016 19:41

I love mine. I wash my hair in the evening and wrap it in a hair wrap. In the morning a bit of serum and mousse is all I need and my hair is around 80% dry. 10-15 minutes with the big hair and I have bouncy waves!

DeliciousIrony · 18/11/2016 19:41

I've had mine a good few years (after reading about it on MN) and use it everyday, can't really imagine life without it now! I have quite fine hair in a bob that varies between chin and shoulder-length, and it really helps to give it shape. I let my hair air dry about 75 - 80% and then alternate blasting it with a hairdryer and using the BBH. I do find occasionally it gives the odd chunk of hair an odd shape which is quite annoying, but I think that is down to my clumsy use/never having bothered to watch a proper tutorial on it.

Like mine, much easier than using a dryer and brush

PamDooveOrangeJoof · 18/11/2016 20:04

Love mine. It does give me flicks like a 90's news reporter but I just give a quick go with the straighterers to finish and it looks great.

luckylavender · 18/11/2016 20:07

Best thing I ever bought for my hair. I have very thick shoulder length hair.

hennybeans · 18/11/2016 20:26

It's my most essential beauty item. Can do my hair in about 6-7 minutes. Lovely, soft wavy curls in my shoulder length, layered hair.

Mine broke after 9 months though. The barrel stopped turning. I returned to Amazon and got a new one the very next day for free. I know the company would have also exchanged it, but Amazon was so hassle- free that I would recommend buying it from them as I think the BBH has form for breaking.

princessconsuelabannahammock · 18/11/2016 20:29

I love mine but they break every year without fail. Next time I am buying something similar but different brand.

MsJudgemental · 18/11/2016 20:34

They're brilliant for volume and glamour, but you may still need straighteners depending on what effect you're after. Don't bother with the slim version unless your hair is very short- I thought it would give me waves in my shoulder-length bob, but it just tangles and pulls! I have both sizes. They do take a while to dry, though, and your arms will still ache, but I'm rubbish at blow-drying so it's a godsend.

WaitrosePigeon · 18/11/2016 20:40

God I love mine. You must get one. Salon hair every day!

BBB81 · 18/11/2016 20:53

It's amazing, I have long wavy/frizzy hair and it gives it a really smooth blow dried look, agree with others not to use them on soaking wet hair as it would take too long, 75-80% dry works well.

Foofer · 18/11/2016 21:31

I love mine too - first one died a couple of weeks ago and had to replace it immediately!

I used to straighten my hair to death but I didn't want the straightness, just the smoothness. After years of fighting it I can embrace my thick, wavy hair and can now say "Be free, you big beautiful bastard!"
Takes me 10 - 15mins for a basic do.

OrlyIC · 18/11/2016 21:54

It's a piece of miracle working magic! I have wavy crazy hair and I'm really lazy. If I use it to dry my hair it looks amazing!

camelfinger · 18/11/2016 22:01

I really wanted to love it but struggled. I wasn't sure what to do about the roots, the barrel is quite big so I was left with damp roots. The bristles all crossed over and got pressed down. I got sick of having to untangle my hair. I wanted something you could just run through your hair in 5 mins max but with thick wavy hair it was just more hassle unfortunately. Then it died (at least I got my money back). I'm not averse to getting another one, I just can't be arsed with watching YouTube tutorials and sectioning off my hair. I'd love something like this if it was designed for lazy people who are shit at hairstyling.

almondpudding · 18/11/2016 22:03

I have one. I have long, straight medium thickness hair. It made absolutely no difference to my hair whatsoever.

dontbesillyhenry · 18/11/2016 22:14

Have a brazilian blow dry- then you only need to blast your hair with the dryer after washing, it's changed my life

AeFondCrisp · 18/11/2016 23:13

BBH did nothing for me tbh. I have tried to love it but... meh. I just trip over it every day now. Maybe I'll give it another go but I really found it vastly over rated.

Brighteyes27 · 18/11/2016 23:22

I love mine I have naturally curly hair and unable to blow dry it or get a half decent result with hairdryer and GHD straighteners unless I go to hairdressers. But when I do my hair with the Babyliss big hair people ask if I have just been to the hairdressers. I watched a few you tube videos and practiced when off on holiday but if you roughly dry it say 70% first with hair dryer then quick spritz with heat protecting spray run through with BBH and great results. On my hair it works best if you roughly section hair a little and go over hair in both directions.

maisiejones · 19/11/2016 00:04

Love mine. Don't know how I lived without it. The trick though is to get your hair almost dry then use this to style. People who are saying it takes a long time aren't drying their hair enough before they use it.

SleepingBooty · 19/11/2016 00:13

Can't live without mine. I have very thick long hair and I've never been able to style it properly until the BBH. I'm on my 3rd and bought my last one the day the old one died.
