Childless cat worshiper...is this idea ridiculous?

jemster123 · 16/11/2016 18:23

My cat is my little baby girl. I keep seen lovely little pink pop up children's tents and thinking how cute it would be to put her a little bed in there. I just then think will it seem ridiculous to other people? You can be honest!

I got the tank for my girls several years ago. It was totally worth it for the split second one of them was photographed on her rear legs squinting along the gun barrel like she was on the Western Front Grin

PenguinsandPebbles · 16/11/2016 18:55

Go for it

Don't be surprised if the cat has other idea,

I'm looking at three cats... yes you three not sitting in your posh cat beds you sitting on a piece of paper, you in a box that yes your bum does look big in he hardly fits, his bum is hanging over the edge and you on my jumper.

Good luck

This is what kittens do with a tent....

Janey50 · 16/11/2016 19:04

This is exactly the sort of thing I would do! Who cares what other people think? I think it's a lovely idea hurries off to look at tents for her own cat

PlumsGalore · 16/11/2016 19:15

I bought a quilted jacket for my old cat but he wouldn't walk in it, I bought him an electric blanket for his bed so he didn't get cold at night, he abandoned his basket. I bought a sheepskin lined igloo, he wouldn't go near it. I wouldn't bother, but you are not mad for trying.

Reiltin · 16/11/2016 19:20

Go for it! Like others, my cat loves my kids' tent and also their tunnel!

susurration · 16/11/2016 19:48

My cat has a cardboard teepee that she loves sitting in. We keep all her toys in it when she's not playing with them.

MatchyMatcha · 16/11/2016 19:53

I can guarantee if I show my dh that cat tank cat he'll order one for our overlords.

One of our cats always goes in the kids tents when they have one up. Go for it OP.

Sleepybeanbump · 16/11/2016 19:58

Ha! Lovely idea. Bet she will scorn your efforts tho. I on other hand went to buy play tent for DS and know that one or other Dcat will annexe it immediately.

my two will sleep in their beds, although the igloo gets slept ON rather than in...

The boycat also likes the radiator when its on, and my cushion.. i HAD a lovely furry cushion that i would hug an stroke because it was so soft... yeah, he sleeps on it now...

pinkyredrose · 16/11/2016 20:51

Arf love your cat in the box! That's some fab cat furniture too!

Madeyemoodysmum · 16/11/2016 20:51

Smartleatherbag · 16/11/2016 20:52

I don't even like cats very much, but I think pets should be spoiled.

SpeckledyBanana · 16/11/2016 20:55

I want a cat now, just so I can buy that tank Envy

bookwormnerd · 16/11/2016 20:57

Buy it, my cats love my children's tents though their favorate is the extra long pop up tunnel. Both cats will run through that for ages and love to sleep In the middle. Apparently the kids one is more fun than an actual cat one. My cats are fondest of tents with windows

YouTheCat · 16/11/2016 21:01

I'm getting my moggy a tunnel for Christmas.

What she really wants is the mouse maze from Autumn Watch, complete with mice. But she's not getting it.

WhooooAmI24601 · 16/11/2016 21:05

Our dog (demented incontinent spaniel type) has her own teepee. Loves it. The cats are not allowed inside because they let themselves down and bring shame on their families each time they do.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 16/11/2016 21:05

"LOL! At the moment she's curled up inside my sewing box - all sharp objects removed!! I think all things considered I will give it a go."

I suspect you might be better off putting your sewing stuff in the tent, and accepting that your sewing box is hers now!

I am fighting a running battle with CatBastard - he wants to be fed outdoors, on the garden table, but I want to feed him on the utility work top, so I don't end up feeding all the neighbourhood crows, gulls and other winged vermin as well. Not to mention having to watch the dogs, because they can clear his bowl,in an instant, as soon as he turns his back on it.

I have won the battle to get him to eat cat food, rather than tuna (having been told on here it was bad for him) but the garden battle is ongoing. You'd think he'd have learn d by now that, if he doesn't want his food eaten by the birds or the dogs, it is better to eat inside - but no.

He will eat, in the worktop - I have caught him there several times. But if he sees me, he goes and sits on the garden table and shouts at me.

Imbroglio · 16/11/2016 21:07

One of mine likes cardboard boxes and anything freshly laundered. One will sit on my coat, or any available homework or art projects, the other on the windowsill.

kali110 · 16/11/2016 21:14

Yes do it!
Why not? Cats would probably feel very safe. They look very similar to cat beds anyway.
It's not a silly idea.
These aren't new idea.
These are very common for hedgehogs, chinchillas, degu, chipmunks etc.

kali110 · 16/11/2016 21:15

Honestly i would def get one if mine wouldn't bite me or rip the thing to pieces Grin

Cary2012 · 16/11/2016 21:21

Yes get one,but don't tell Kitty it's for them, because if you do they will avoid it. My three have a bed thing that hooks on a radiator, which they all avoid like the plague. It is sheepskin lined and so cute, never used or even acknowledged. They have a lovely scratching post which is met with equal disdain, although the Persian Blue did pause to pee up it on his way to sharpen his claws on the new sofa.

We have a fancy little velvet lined fleecy igloo, which has never been approached, sitting empty by the wood burner.

Cat 1 is currently sat in an empty Primark bag in the hall.
Cat 2 is perched, somehow, on the top of the flatscreen tv.
Persian Blue is laying underneath the cat bed, which is hooked onto a hot radiator. He's on a cold stone floor, shivering, with a face like a smacked arse.

And that's why I love the bones of them.
