To think trump has broken most of his pre-ellection pledges so far and there should be a revote? still very 😭😭😭

He's backed down on just about everything that he was voted in to do! OK yes this usually happens, but over years. This has just been a few days. Surely he has broken some rules and there should be a re-vote?

Elendon

Pretty much 200,000 more votes for Trump in each of those states. More people in FL and NC wanted Trump. Even if you determine that to be close, it's still a lot of people. Trump lost Virginia by similar (similar electoral college votes to NC). Lots of states where Trump lost by fewer votes than those in FL and NC: MN, NV, CO for example. So you could say Clinton was close in FL and NC, but Trump was equally close to picking up several other states.

Like I said, take out LA and Clinton would have lost the popular vote by a million. One city saved her. All I'm saying is the popular vote success just means she did well in the populous, Democrat strongholds eg LA and NYC. It doesn't mean that across America geographically more people wanted her to be president. Obama beat Romney by 5 million in 2012. 600,000 isn't significant.

Obama did not achieve as much as he set out to because of the red tape involved not because he didn't want to. e.g. Guantanemo Bay

Exactly! He was fab but was blocked from doing much.

Only very very selfish people would resent the poorest people in society getting access to affordable healthcare. Not even the very right wing in Europe talk of abolishing that.

Why do Americans object to Obamacare?

Because their own health insurance has increased in price to pay for it. They'd rather see others without health coverage because of pre-existing conditions etc.

Obamacare is flawed. The whole US health insurance is flawed. I would be astonished if Trump makes it any better.

All, I ask that you be open minded and research these issues objectively. That means looking at all sides and being fair about it. You will find your questions answered if you do that. Peace to you.

Culturally the uk and the us are a world apart. In the uk our citizens have access to healthcare regardless of ablity to pay or pre existing healthcare which is paid through everyone taxes. No one minds that benefit scroungers and their children get access to the country's best doctors if they are desperately ill.

The NHS is not perfect, but as a nation we enjoy a higher standard of public health at a fraction of the cost of the us in many areas. The only other country with a NHS type system is Cuba. They also enjoy a better standard of public health than many developed countries.

The Americans are also obsessed with the right the bear arms. Such liberal gun owner ship leads to more crime. Rather than blaming Mexicans they need to get guns out of public ownership.

Politicians lie. It's a fact. They all do regardless of which side and what agenda. Trump was fast to backtrack but hc would have done just the same.

None of them would speak the truth because that way leads to confused people and no voters.

Witchend · 15/11/2016 07:14

I thought we'd rather he went back on a lot of the stuff he said before the vote. Don't complain.
