In 1386, a pig was publicly hanged for murder. True story.

I imagine he tasted like bacon shortly after.

HerRoyalFattyness · 13/11/2016 18:32

How did the pig murder someone?

ItShouldHaveBeenJingleJess · 13/11/2016 18:39

He absolutely deserved it (I'll spare you the details) but he was apparently dressed in human clothes for the execution, which is, well.....odd, really.

RebelRogue · 13/11/2016 18:48

Jess that is hilarious and disturbing at the same time. I like it Grin

I googled, the crime was horrid but the execution sounds hilarious in its ridiculousness:
"the condemned sow was dressed up as a person for execution, that other pigs were made to attend in order to take warning by their swinish sister’s fate..."

I don't think they'd have eaten a sinful pigs bacon...

LuluLovesFruitcakes · 13/11/2016 19:18

But was it dressed in male or female human clothes Hmm

PikachuSayBoo · 13/11/2016 20:01

Well in Hartlepool they hung a monkey thinking it was a French spy.

ItShouldHaveBeenJingleJess · 13/11/2016 20:01

Was it an ancestor of Daddy Pig? Explains a fair bit...

HerRoyalFattyness · 13/11/2016 20:02

Poor monkey. He wasn't a French spy. He was Spanish Grin

ItShouldHaveBeenJingleJess · 13/11/2016 20:02

pklme · 13/11/2016 20:15

Another one who read page of random facts, wondering if Luciana was found...

PikachuSayBoo · 13/11/2016 20:19

It wasn't last year or anything!

I used to live in the NE. Hartlepoolers are still known as MonkeyHangers by some people and get a bit het up about it.

FriskyFrog · 14/11/2016 00:23

Interesting. In some parts of Ireland dandelions are known as pissebeds. Because they have diuretic qualities.

Tis a myth. The idea that they make you wet the bed comes from the French name for them, pissenlit. "Lit" means bed.

Sorry, not RTFT through yet, so I may be repeating.

cloudchasing · 14/11/2016 00:53

When I'm nagging my children to brush their teeth properly, they are almost all teenagers I tell them that there are more germs in your mouth than there are up your bum. I suspect that's not actually true, but I heard it somewhere once and adopted it as fact.

I also live by the rule - never put anything in your vagina that you wouldn't put in your mouth. Just FYI.

NotLadyPrickshit · 14/11/2016 09:49

Cloudchasing this is indeed very good advice & I shall dispense this at any given opportunity from now on

LuluLovesFruitcakes · 14/11/2016 10:18

cloudchasing I'm now slightly concerned that I'm more fussy about what goes in my foof than I am what goes in my mouth Hmm
