The snakes were amazing - it was like they were pack hunting, like veloceraptors. Obviously was willing the iguanas to escape, but couldn't help but admire the snakes - fucking scary things though. We live on an awesome planet and I wish we took better care of it.

Loved the show, nothing will ever be as hard to watch as that one with the elephant being stalked and killed by a pack of lions a few years back , that was awful.

The snakes were dead creepy but nature is cruel, survival of the fittest and all that. Looking forward to next week's programme.

The sequence that's really stuck with me over the years was the baby elephant that had got separated from its herd. It picked up a scent and started following it - the wrong way... And as if that wasn't bad enough, the camera then panned out, and out, and out, until that poor little baby was just a tiny speck all on its own in the middle of an enormous plain. Sad

The starving polar bear trying to kill a walrus with the last of its failing strength was pretty awful, too.

I was SO confused by this thread, thought it was some kind of horrific Facebook meme doing the rounds!

However a mention of The Man and I've logged onto iplayer and got it :)

I will watch and then come back traumatized for life!

The filming was absolutely incredible. There must be some awards coming. I love a pre Christmas Attenborough series. Last night was more emotional than most. I was welling up over the poor penguins in the storm.

DD and I were literally screaming at the TV last night, willing the little fella on then the poor bleeding penguins made us cry! The whole programme was incredible. Unbelievable telly!

The iguana vs the snakes was the most stressful thing I have seen on telly for a long time Shock I kept thinking of Indiana Jones saying 'snakes, why does it have to be snakes' Grin

Poor penguins Sad

I adore sloths and would have happily watched an hour of that sloth looking for a girlfriend!!

I hate snakes. He sight of them appearing from everywhere, heads up and jaws open was bloody horrifying.

We were watching it with the kids and all feeling very traumatised until the last iguana sort of kicked the chasing snake in the head and it fell down the crack in the rock - my son shouted 'Ninja Iguana!!' Laughter definitely helped.

I cried at the mummy bird sitting on her broken egg Sad - in my defence I have a 3 month old baby and cry at nearly anything now Grin
My husband text me from work today saying 'make sure the snakes don't get

That young bird that couldn't fly because of all the seeds stuck to it was awful too. Poor thing. Did they have to show it calling out?

The snakes were the stuff of nightmares. I've never seen reptiles move so fast. DH was yelling at the tv 'Couldn't you lay your eggs closer to the rocks?!'

I think the Attenborough stuff is amazing but is getting more realistic and gory each time. I was already traumatised by the baby in Life Story who had to throw themselves off a cliff and bounce off rocks to reach the feeding grounds. Last night was awesome and terrifying.

I found the poor penguin with the broken leg the most upsetting Sad I thought the snake sequence was amazing, although I was still rooting for that iguana to make it up the rocks; I saw lots of them in the Galapagos, but no snakes! The baby sloth, baby lemur and the little fairy tern chick were out of this world cute. The fairy terns are well named, so beautiful and ethereal looking when in flight ❤️

I wondered if they could help the bird with all the seeds stuck on him? I know they don't like to interfere with nature but I remember watching one of the David Attenborough shows a few years back what at the end they showed the film crew helping a flamingo who got stuck in the mud. They said they wouldn't normally interfere but couldn't see in this case any harm in it, the bird covered in seeds was similar imo.

Also I wondered what if anything people were going to do about those horrible ants killing the crabs?! If they were introduced by humans surely humans should be trying to get rid of them.
