Aside from the basic errors (it's 100minutes long, not nearly 3 hours), it's just an awful article. The fact that Toby Young thinks everyone claiming benefits is a smoking/gambling/drinking loudmouth is just offensive. I'm shocked - not that it was published - but that he thinks his opinion is the opinion of everyone.

I'd love to see him survive on benefits. I wonder if he'd be saying the same things then?

No we know it's not an insult. But you do seem to be trying your hand at some diagnosing. And you did seem to be implying something about her posting.

Or her views. Or her dinner party conversation. Or something.

I was implying something about her personality based on having spoken to her lots of times and read lots of her posts. I can see it's not right to armchair diagnose though I do regret posting that sorry. I suppose I was trying to appeal to people to cut her a little slack (although I massively disagree with her politics, personally). I can see it was hamfisted.

Other than that, I have never made a secret of it here (and I've been here a long time and argued with her frequently) so Me knows that I"m an Aspie, I don't see anyone cutting me any slack, nor do I need/want them to.

Actually Dawn I didn'#t know that. I tend not to remember what people post or who they are which is probably why their comments do not bother me. I am huge fan of free speech and hope people will always write what they like.

The universal payment/income i suggested above which is Green Party policy tends to be where right and left can meet so suggestions of it even by people like I am tend to be well received.

However it also could entrench women at home as housewives and it may encourage the idle to do nothing to is certainly has pros and cons to it; but universal benefits are cheap to administer and hard to cheat so I think on the whole I support them.

I see today IDS is suggesting we try to benefit the working poor rather than OAPs with their triple lock pensions and I support that stance. We have given too much advantage to the old at the expense of the young.

Although the suggestion you may have to be abnormal (or whatever PC work we are allowed to use) to support the Tory party is not likely to be a very popular view. I am not the only person in the UK who voted them in. I didn't design a computer programme to register 2m votes in my name or anything like that.

Me, whilst I understand what you say about the suggestion of abnormality, I would like to point out that I am not abnormal, (PC words irrelevant) I have Asperger Syndrome, which is what I think was the suggestion made in regard to you. It was, as the poster has admitted, ill thought through.
