For want of a better title and semi 'lighthearted' (boak). AIBU to be totally at ? It's just so bloody snarky seeming. I see it all the time on threads where posters can't be bothered to actually articulate their problem with the poster / thread so just leave that passive aggressive instead. I'm sure it does have its place but it just seems so over-used at the moment and seems to add a confrontational edge to threads where that's just not needed.

I'm not very keen on emoticons / emojis / smileys in general. People should be articulate enough to make their point without resorting to some stupid faces.

I love the face. I generally have that face or the face when I read threads on here.

The serves no useful purpose as far as I can tell though.

And I hate all the non MN emojis. Especially the hearts for eyes one and the crying with laughter one.

CruCru - I'm sorry, but that is as daft as saying that you'd use the same sort of language in a meeting with your boss and a party with friends at the pub! Different language/styles/mores for different milieux, surely.
