To ask what annoying habits your boss or colleagues have

I had a boss who was an absolute twat. He was a lazy wee sod and hardly did any work. Anyway if he was pointing something out to me he would point with his index finger and pinkie. All I could imagine was taking a massive axe and chopping his fingers off. I know it's a bit extreme but it drove me insane. I used to go back to my desk and type swear words just to calm myself down. What annoying habits drive you insane?

Someone who sits in front of me does loud phlegmy sniffs alllllll day and all year round too so it's not just a cold. They even do it when people are talking to them and when they're on the phone Envy < definitely not envy. It actually makes me feel a bit sick

Singing, humming and drumming on desks. The last one drives me mental!!!

Everyday the person across from me eats a packet of crisps. Un-Curls a paperclip and picks the stuck bits out of his teeth with it. It gives me the boak

Thatwaslulu I'm with you on the lateness thing. I always make sure I'm a few minutes early for a meeting and it boils my piss when people saunter in 5-10 minutes late, with no apology, then proceed to get a cup of coffee (if refreshments are provided) before sitting down. If I'm chairing a meeting, we start on time and don't go back over stuff for the latecomers!

THE LUNCH BOX POLICE.

There is a woman who I swear to god hunts me down to smell my food.
Another who needs a feature length documentary on what it is, why I chose that, how much it cost, is it good for me, etc etc etc.
Someone else who if anyone is eating anything but carrot sticks goes oooooo feeling naughty today are we?! Angry

I did a whole thread recently about my annoying colleagues and the ridiculous conversations they were having

My pet hate is one colleague saying "... And I" about everything and another colleague saying "myself" both in the wrong context. I'm not quite rude enough to correct them so I just seethe about it

An ex colleague used to eat a single buttered scone at 10:30 and an apple at 4:30 on the dot, every single day for 4 years. Not once did he, for example have a fruit scone at 10:15 or a pear. Fucking live a little.

There is one man I work with who does a weird nose breath out every few sentences. I can't explain it but it drives me mad.

Another man snorts like a big fat pig every few sentences.

I once spent a three hour meeting sat between these two dicks.

Snorty pig man also always feels the need to leave meetings halfway through for some bullshit reasons. He'll inevitably have to get himself a water or a coffee or go to the toilet. It just strikes me that he wants everyone in the room to look at him. I don't know. He's a dick.

Our head of department does this thing when you're talking where she smiles but the kind of smile that people do when they're thinking 'poor you'. Like she kind of sucks her lips in and the brings the sides of her mouth up really high. It's so incredibly off-putting because it just makes me think I'm saying some really dumb stuff.

My manager does things for me and it drives me insane. But for the other 99% of the time he is awesome, so I seethe and try and move on.

For example, I have been "training" colleagues to access the shared files I manage on the shared drive - these are always up to date and stops people using incorrect material etc. Slowly they are learning (they're just lazy, not stupid), then one of them will email my boss and instead of either passing them onto me; or directing them to the shared drive, he sends them the files directly. Back to square one.

Or he'll email me to remind me to do as if I will have miraculously forgotten that day. So when I do it (as normal) it actually looks like I am doing it in response to his reminder, so it encourages him!!

This is a guy who works all hours so has plenty of his own work to do probably because he spends so much time doing mine for me!

My boss sometimes decides that the best time to eat his daily apple is when he is on the phone to me. They are extremely unproductive phone calls because I can't bear to listen to it so I hold the phone away from my ear or, if it's a particularly juicy or crunchy apple, I simply hang up mid-sentence and blame poor reception. It's made me cry before as I find the noise so incredibly stressful.
