To expect my OH to wear clean undies every day?

Beardsareweird · 05/10/2016 18:46

I have just read the thread about the bloke not showering. My OH does not change his undies every day and makes his boxers last about 3 days. It sounds truly disgusting, but he doesn't smell. Is this normal? I could not ever imagine wearing the same pair of undercrackers two days in a row.

To those posters whose dp's are 'saving' their clean pants, can I ask if the partners do the washing? Surely (without meaning to sound sexist) if it's you who does the laundry anyway I can't see how they think they are helping - I'm assuming they aren't quite so frugal with t-shirts / towels etc?

SpookyPotato · 08/10/2016 08:58

Everyone has poo, wee and other leakage on their underwear no matter how clean you are, it's just the nature of our bits! Men do leak urine and scratch their bums, plus just general ball sweat. Someone can have the cleanest bum but it will still sweat and have poo particles. Sorry to be graphic but I feel threads like these can handle it Grin Mens boxers do smell after a day of use, it's gross not to change them every day.

FruitCider · 08/10/2016 13:39

I'm a wriggler and everything just ends up getting hitched up

Yeah that's pretty much what happens to me. I have big pants for bed to stop the wedgies!

imnotreally · 08/10/2016 14:09

I wear knickers in bed. Have done since DC were born. Kids all wear knickers/undies in bed too. Makes pjs last longer. Also we've had issues with various things so I wouldn't want my kids to walk in and see my bits on show.

Ewwwww I can't go a day without clean underwear!

lizzieoak · 08/10/2016 17:02

Fruitcider, my pj's are "just not that into me" Grin

woofsaidtimmy · 08/10/2016 17:14

I don't get the 'airing your bits' argument for not wearing knickers in bed (unless you sleep on your back with legs open and no bedding).

Gottagetmoving · 08/10/2016 17:37

I change underwear every day but my partner doesn't. He will usually change every two days but I reckon he has gone three. No, his underwear doesn't smell so I can't complain about that. They are never stained, so I can't complain about that either.
As for poo bits, I can only assume people who have them don't clean properly after going to the loo.My partner is meticulous about that.
I would prefer he changed every day, but he doesn't and because I have found no evidence of stains, poo, or smells...I can't really insist he does. It's his choice.

FruitCider · 08/10/2016 18:28

No, definitely poo particles present all the time!

SpookyPotato · 08/10/2016 18:34

woowoowoo Grin

Gotta Have you given them a sniff? They will smell after three days.. if they don't then I want to know your husbands secret to a long lasting pleasant crotch. It doesn't matter how clean you are, things usually seep and sweat..

Gottagetmoving · 08/10/2016 19:03

Not if you clean yourself properly after having a poo ..no they are not, unless you have some uncontrollable leakage problem.

Have you given them a sniff? They will smell after three days
Yes,...of course I have sniffed them. He does shower so they wouldn't smell any more than if they were worn one day..but I haven't sniffed anything noticeable.

Gottagetmoving · 08/10/2016 19:04

Plus,...it's usually two days, rarely three.

Ericaequites · 08/10/2016 19:10

Lay out clean boxers for him each time he showers. Better still would be that you should discuss the issue with him. Most men are clueless children.

Yuck!

MN is some sort of minging parallel universe where blokes don't shower, they piss or shit the bed and now - don't change their pants.

This thread makes me glad my DP goes commando!

My DC change their briefs at least once a day as well, although they are teenagers and well... you know.

I'm not sure which is worse! 3 day old pants or no pants at all!

Gottagetmoving · 08/10/2016 19:53

I just don't get it. Does he also wipe his penis after weeing or just give it a shake? There are bound to be some drips that will end up on the pants

Yes,...he wipes his penis. He doesn't have an 'excuse' He has a reason. He doesn't think it's worth having washing things when there is no need...his opinion. He doesn't think they need washing after one day.
Unlike a lot of men, he never misses the toilet or wees on the floor around the toilet. He never leaves stains in the bowl. He always cleans himself. So where you think him not changing his boxers daily is grubby, he sent your usual grubby, sloppy bloke who can't keep himself or the toilet clean.

Gottagetmoving · 08/10/2016 19:54

Like I said...they are no dirtier than most men's are after one day.

Gottagetmoving · 08/10/2016 19:56

Does he wash all his trousers after one wear?

couldntlovethebearmore · 08/10/2016 20:02

Loving the defensiveness regarding how unclean everyone else's blokes are when someone wears the same undergarments for three days running!
Pants are not the same as tops trousers or other items of clothing. This is why you cannot refund or exchange them. Trying to pretend it's a healthy practice is just delusional

OOAOML · 08/10/2016 20:04

What is all this about sniffing pants? At least one person has said they sniff their partner's worn pants. My husband does change his daily, but I have no intention of sniffing them...
