To think this is all kinds of wrong?

I'm not being unreasonable am I? This is wrong, yes?

Why would anyone put up a shower curtain as well as a glass screen?

Love your tiles, am looking for similar for our kitchen Smile. Unhelpful.
Have you asked him? Is it because the shower head is too high?

ATruthUniversallyAcknowledged · 15/09/2016 23:51

Well it definitely wouldn't be sanctioned!

I'm 99% sure it's one of those springy ones.

A toddler could 'accidentally' pull it down though couldn't they...? Wink

He just said it's because the water gets on the floor. I told him to shower better.

It's awful isn't it? Why did I think him and I were compatible?

I don't think you DP is being stupid at all.

Some shower screens are not long enough, and you will find water escaping and then going onto the floor. Hence the shower curtain.

He probably would of liked to remove the shower screen then placate curtain, but it is a bit of a hassle to pull down the screen, hence he did what he did.

SaggyNaggy · 15/09/2016 23:58

I think you should remove the curtain on the understanding hhat you will mop the water up that removing the curtain allows onto the floor. After all, you designed it, its your mistake, he was trying to fix it bless him.

Water will still escape, unless you want your DP to shower rigidly.

UnderTheGreenwoodTree · 16/09/2016 00:13

You disappear that shower curtain. Simple. Next time he's at work, it's just gone Shock

Then deny all knowledge. Grin

It will stick to your arms and legs when you shower like cling film. LTB!

MidniteScribbler · 16/09/2016 05:18

It looks stupid, but you should have put a decent screen on there in the first place. I can't stand having to be so paranoid about splashing that I can't relax and enjoy my show

Gatekeeper · 16/09/2016 05:31

I can see why he's done it; your screen is too short and you can stamp your feet as much as you want...it isGrin. Probably too short and too narrow

CanadianJohn · 16/09/2016 06:18

Well, "whoever" designed the bathroom should be shot and pissed on. The shower screen is too short and too narrow, and the tiles are so depressing. Were they on sale, or what?

However, all is not lost. Get someone in to re-tile, get a decent shower screen, and all will be well.

There, I saved your marriage. No need to thank me.

Costacoffeeplease · 16/09/2016 06:30

The screen is way too small, look where the shower head is in relation to the top of the screen

WanderingTrolley1 · 16/09/2016 06:48

The bathroom has been poorly designed.

ATruthUniversallyAcknowledged · 16/09/2016 07:15

I'd happily replace the shower screen with a bigger one if it really was a problem It's just that curtain. Wtf?

OP posts:
Costacoffeeplease · 16/09/2016 08:11

Well do that then

tibbawyrots · 16/09/2016 09:10

Shower curtains freak me out with their nasty reaching out and clinging to your wet body ways 😞

DontBuyANewMumCashmere · 16/09/2016 09:16

I think he is a fetishist and he enjoys the sucky wrappy feeling of a damp shower curtain clinging to his damp body

BertrandRussell · 16/09/2016 09:19

That shower screen's just not high enough.

dowhatnow · 16/09/2016 09:24

Would he be prepared to go for counselling? I'm not sure that your marriage can be saved unless he backs down and grovels profusely.

Nice tiles btw.

dowhatnow · 16/09/2016 09:25

I'd happily replace the shower screen with a bigger one if it really was a problem It's just that curtain. Wtf?

Or replace the husband?

Danglyweed · 16/09/2016 09:25

Fuck sakes, what was he thinking?! That does look ridiculous. Who ordered the bath screen though? It does look a little too short. Take the curtain down and get an extra large bath mat?

notgivingin789 · 16/09/2016 09:26

canadianJohn Grin Grin.

In all seriousness OP; get a much bigger and wider shower screen.
I feel your DPs pain as au used to have a shower screen (came with the flat) but as hard as I tried, water was still escaping and I had puddles on the floor, so I had to use old rugs to catch the water. It was a hassle.

Luckily, my shower screen broke and I have a shower curtain for the time being (to save up for a new shower screen). I can't tell you the joys of bathing freely with my shower curtain, I no longer have to worry if the water ends up on the floor and it doesn't stick to my body... I have a wide bath, so maybe that's why I don't get that.

Elroya1 · 16/09/2016 09:27

I think the glass screen is rather small. Maybe that is why the curtain was added...

Is he much taller than you?
