Once a cheater always a cheater, he ditched his wife to shag the other host on American bake off. He's not the type of person that should be involved in a family show.

Heres hoping for Jamie

My money is on The Fabulous Baker Brothers to replace P or M if they decide to jump this sinking ship. Tom Herbert is a baker and they've already had a series on C4.

Presenters? No idea.

Anicechocolatecake · 14/09/2016 12:16

Richard Bertinet is a very sexy male baker. I'd watch if he was in it. Seriously, look him up on YouTube.

TheLastHeatwave · 14/09/2016 12:27

Anice. He's all yours, he's not floating my boat.

Nor the Fabulous Baker Brothers.

Scholes34 · 14/09/2016 12:47

I was wondering when we might consider Bake Off had run its course. Now we know.

However, am liking the suggestion of Trevor and Simon, and Have I got news for you survived post-Angus Deayton.

Goldenhandshake · 14/09/2016 12:48

Jack Dee would be fabulous to replace M & S. I would definitely watch that! Can you imagine him during freezer-gate.

He'd just be like "You took his ice cream out and didn't tell him? Well aren't you a cunt"

Oh that is even better than the tent and the bag of flour comment!

This reminds me why I keep coming back to Mumsnet!

jay55 · 14/09/2016 13:23

Channel 4 will probably use Steve Jones and he'll be as bad as he is on formula1

LiviaDrusillaAugusta · 14/09/2016 13:29

Jamie Oliver is a total twat.

I don't like Paul Hollywood but what has the fact he cheated on his wife have to do with his suitability as a judge? Its none of the viewers' business what he did (as long as it's legal) and his DW has taken him back.

LiviaDrusillaAugusta · 14/09/2016 13:30

Actually these threads have reminded me how few tv presenters I can actually bear to watch Grin

MargotLovedTom · 14/09/2016 13:33

Thank God ITV didn't buy it because they'd probably have Keith fucking Lemon hosting it Shock.

HoppityFrogs · 14/09/2016 13:37

I think they will be given a wooden spoon or two....

LetsJunglyJumpToIt · 14/09/2016 17:33

C4 will try and make it cool. Bake off isn't cool, it's homely and warm and comfortable. And it will be full of adverts. Surely you have to have a presenter who actually knows about baking, not just some famous chef who loves themself, I.e Jamie or Nigella.

Dozer · 14/09/2016 17:43

Grin jack dee quote.

Perhaps Banksy could jazz up the tent.

Or a Bake Off / I'm a Celebrity mash-up with contestants forcing Ant and Dec to eat bush tucker babka.

Dozer · 14/09/2016 17:46

Davina is barred: you can't publish down with sugar books and then host Bake Off.

wasonthelist · 14/09/2016 17:46

Paul who? and what's this thread about anyway?

spanky2 · 14/09/2016 18:03

I read that Paul Hollywood said if it moved from the bbc he wouldn't go too. It's the dynamics of the judges and the presenters that make it work. I'm so sad as I won't bother with it with a different line up. Jamie Oliver said he would love to do it as he was asked to do the American one but couldn't. I cannot bear him at all. That school dinners/ breast feeding is easy give me the rage. I just find his 'brand' too annoying. I'm also not sure what Ant and Decs popularity is.

FamousGBBOGoOnAnAdventure · 15/09/2016 00:03

Davina will host the great British salad, they'll have Jamie Oliver getting children to eat it and Hugh fw growing it

MargotLovedTom · 15/09/2016 00:12

I think reading even just a handful of the posts on this thread would have given you the answers to your questions wason Wink.

PerspicaciaTick · 15/09/2016 00:20

I am starting to suspect that C4GBBO will be a poisoned chalice for any presenter/judge daft enough to get involved. Not because the show will be a huge flop (although it will), but because the public will judge them so badly for taking Love Productions filthy mulah and it will damage their reputation.

ocelot41 · 15/09/2016 00:22

Jack Dee! Jack Dee!

Feminazi · 15/09/2016 00:35

I reckon that Jamie Oliver and Paul Hollywood would end up in a scrap over carbs... That might be worth watching?

Storminateapot · 15/09/2016 00:35

There are more than enough culinary shows already. This was slightly unique and that was because of the personalities of the judges and hosts. Lose them and there's no point trying to replace anyone and expect viewers to invest. This will attract a mediocre audience for series 1 then die a death via advert because we don't want to waste time being told what we just saw and will see next every 15 minutes like goldfish. What a shame.

RTKangaMummy · 15/09/2016 00:38

I think that MB will retire away from it just make guest appearances on other programmes

I think PH will do it cos he will follow the ££££££

I am pleased it is NOT on ITV cos then it would be A&D OR KL both options would be awful

LikeDylanInTheMovies · 15/09/2016 06:22

Yabu if anyone who'd enjoyed an extra marital knee trembler was sacked the workplaces of the UK would be things out rather thined out. What he does off screen so long as it isn't illegal is no one else's business: it isn't like he's bent them over the kitchen counter top live on the show is it?

Mind you, that would be the first exciting thing to happen on the bake off and
I really don't see the appeal or the collective browbeating this has caused. This rubbish gets foisted on me if I haven't had the good sense to go out when it's on.

They make cake and bread and bread and cake week after week after week. Cookery on TV is difficult as you can't smell or taste the food, but with such a limited range I find it becomes stale very quickly (pun intended).

Mel and Sue's footlights schtick I found it tiresome 20 years ago on light lunch and their act doesn't seem to have changed or developed in the intervening period.
