About the price of chicken fried rice?

DH and I have just ordered Chinese food for dinner and despite me begging that he doesn't embarrass me by ordering such a non-meal he has ordered chicken fried rice for £6.

I've ordered crispy shredded beef in satay sauce with a portion of fried rice for £6.50.

AIBU in thinking that chicken fried rice shouldn't cost the same as an actual meal?!

There's a chicken and egg Japanese dish call oyakodon, which is parent and child rice bowl. It's delicious.

My local has CFR at £3.80 per portion, no idea how much a house costs here but likely crazy money

In my richer days I used to order egg fried rice with spare ribs and stir fried veg. All side dishes and cheaper than a full meal from the main section.
I haven't had a Chinese in years but often make egg fried rice for dinner thats much nicer and healthier than a take away.

I'm staying away from London and the prices here are so much more for take away.

Its £3.50-£4.20 for special rice in london

Where I am now its £5-5.20

Yet the petrol here is so cheap. 123- 126 whilst london is 129-132
