To quite like the Kardashians?

I used to hate them and everything they stood for, until I watched an episode of KUWTK (it was on in the airport lounge) and now I am obsessed!

Any other converts or AIBU?

Kylie's eye shadow sold out worldwide in 1 minute. That's smart!

Yeah because they'll be the brains behind the business side of their products and not just the plastic face of it all Hmm Living off the father's values though really since he helped defend OJ. Family motto must be "anything for a quick buck."

SherlockPotter · 08/09/2016 19:54

I secretly like the Kardashians... My favourite is Khloe!

BitchQueen90 · 08/09/2016 19:55

Queenbee obviously they earn their own money now but let's face it, they have had privileges and opportunities growing up that the majority don't. They have used them well and they know how to work the media but they have pretty much had it handed to them on a plate.

FelixFelix · 08/09/2016 19:56

I love them. I think they are pretty clever and can be incredibly funny sometimes. I love the show.

Rob & Chyna's own show starts this month!!

SoftDay · 08/09/2016 20:02

I've learned a new word from this thread - sybaritic. Wonderful. Who says threads about sleb twaddle are not educational?!

Hockeydude · 08/09/2016 20:04

Whilst I can bow down to their ability to make money, I do think they not only represent a lot of what's wrong with our modern society, they also encourage it.

The obsession with their own looks is too much for me to bear. It's worse than run of the mill vanity, it is narcissism. It's the plastic and cosmetic enhancements and treatments that really encourages people to dislike their own bodies and that is sad.

As for Kanye's models dressed in beige swimming costume style things Confused Confused Confused and more Confused.

Feminazi · 08/09/2016 20:09

I agree about Caitlyn Jenner though! They come across as a terrible, selfish, parent!

Watched for the first time a couple of years ago. I like them, I think they are a genuinely nice family that love each other very much! I don't get the hate.

Whitecovers · 08/09/2016 20:13

I love watching kuwtk, I find them all fascinating and usually end up wishing I had a big close family.

Gingerbread, Jersey Shore is one my favourite reality shows!

ItsNiceItsDifferentItsUnusual · 08/09/2016 20:15

That's another point, they do seem to genuinely love each other and like spending time together. I like that.

Probably hideously daunting for an outsider though.

Kendall seems okay but Kim has no personality at all

wasonthelist · 08/09/2016 20:29

Highly unlikely ever to see an episode. Not sure how people can be so invested (love or hate) in folk off telly they have never met and will never know - that bit is a mystery to me but it doesn't stop loads of folk having detailed opinions on them, so I am the outlier with no small talk to make at the water cooler/school gate etc. Smile

gingerbreadmanm · 08/09/2016 20:52

i finally convinced dp to have a jersey shore marathon the other day then couldnt get it on Angry cabs r heeerrreee

waves flag I bloody LOVE kuwtk ever since my sister introduced me to it years ago. Mostly in a wine fogged lazy Sunday night kind of 'how the fuck do people like this even exist' kind of horror-voyeurism. It's so easy to watch and be incredulous at.

It always makes me want to be a bit more glamorous, but also thankful that I'm not a huge bitch.

(Also, I love it more so now because my phone just tried to correct 'kuwtk' to 'Kierkegaard' which is about the most brilliantly unlikely juxtaposition EVER.)

CaoNiMa · 09/09/2016 05:09

It irritates me when people describe the likes of the Kardashians and Jordan as "good businesswomen". Good businesswomen sit on boards and oversee mergers and acquisitions, not tout their tits around for money. There's another word for that...

ItsNiceItsDifferentItsUnusual · 09/09/2016 08:39

But isn't that missing the point to a certain extent? People surely mean 'good' as in 'productive/impressive/successful'. I agree the business is not what I would want for myself, or my hypothetical daughter, but I do remain impressed by what they have built in terms of their business.

LaurieMarlow · 09/09/2016 13:20

Very old fashioned understanding of business Cai. Without being too harsh, you strikes me as limited in your thinking.

The digital space is the new frontier of business. Monitising that takes great new but equally valuable skills. Many of those who have been able to do that definitely do not fit your vision of the business suit in the boardroom. Think Zoella as well as the Katdashians. This is the future.

Queenbean · 09/09/2016 13:25

Good businesswomen sit on boards and oversee mergers and acquisitions

Ha ha ha. Is this some 90s throwback?

I'm a good businesswoman and do neither of those things.

MitzyLeFrouf · 09/09/2016 13:28

The mother is no doubt a good businesswoman but at what cost I wonder? The youngest daughter already seems jaded from a childhood spent in front of the cameras. I wonder if in a decade's time Kris will think it was all worth it.

KimKsButt · 09/09/2016 13:30

I LOVE them- hence my name! I just dont take it all too seriously. Bit of light entertainment for me!

KourtneyKardashian · 09/09/2016 21:10

I knew this username would come in handy one day 😂 I like KUWTK and the spin offs. I watched one and loved them.

Good businesswomen sit on boards and oversee mergers and acquisitions, not tout their tits around for money. There's another word for that...

What a load of tosh. Good business people come with all types of skills (commercial, creativity, finance, people, emotional, procurement, sales etc etc), dealing with mergers is just a bizarre definition Hmm

Their products sell out; games / apps that they produce are popular; books they write are best sellers; products they endorse sell well and their tv shows are watched worldwide. There is no doubt in my mind that they're not successful business people (in particular Kris Jenna who manages all of them).

Kendall's modelling career started from when she was 15 and I'd agree to some point that fame has likely helped, but you see in the earlier episodes how hard she worked to gain credibility away from her name.

I like watching the programmes; there isn't much concentration and I find it hilarious. Kourtney in particular I like as she has breastfed and co slept with all of her children; which in the USA is probably more 'shocking' than here (I think she fed Mason until 2yo).

Feminazi · 10/09/2016 00:46

Kris Jenner could well be one of the most successful living business women if she continues actually....
